not to take anything away from jon but I can't believe HAL didn't click on on cpm24, he had a set pattern for 7 minutes straight and was doing the same thing over and over

it might not have made a difference but to me it seemed he pretty much let him have the map :|

he had locked the map within about 1 min, then just running the items, dunno how hal could of broke the lock that easy?

obviously he wasn't going to break it easy but there was absolutely no variation in play at all

he stood on the top YA and RL, went down to the lower YA (got a lot of kills there) and waited about 10 seconds and then went to RA came back and repeated over and over

hell a lot of the time he left RA because hal was staying near the jumppad trying to keep out the way and made few attempts and getting it :)

during the final few minutes though he took his chances and started cesssing and his opportunities opened up, not say it would have made a difference but jon could no longer easily go from armour to armour

Maybe because he doesn't know how to play 24?

actually, he was doing a shitload of damage to jon4than, like, perfect moves to balance stuff up so he could retake control. but for some reason he was never positioning himself to take armours when the time came, and picking stupid fights instead of securing the armour he so needed which he'd just worked so hard for. looked really weird in my eyes, go figure.

regaining control on that map isn't so hard as most thing imo, plus jon4than wasn't even pressuring him hugely, he kept going for RA. a lot of good players when they get control completely ignore RA and instead head their opponent off for every gun and YA to rack up frags in quick sucession. taking RA makes you very weak positionally and HAL showed that where he was on like 100/20 jon4than 150/200 and he managed to take jon4than down to 100/50 without losing any hp himself. so usually letting the enemy get RA can be an advantage for you if you know to use it right.

You can't compete with someone who has played this game 5 times the time you did, played every situation gazzilion times and controling the game that well.

oh yes you can, just look at av3k beating toxic...

Jon has played alot more cpm than hal, especially if you're gonna compare it to av3k and toxic (is there really any major difference in their playtime?) :)

well, considering quake 3 too, yes, but even if not, toxic was (till then) undefeated and won several (world championship like) titles in a row.

So looks like av3k's job was somewhat harder, and he did it...

so how much difference is there in playtime?
