i had 4 diamondbacks die on me over the course of one year. also the buttons on the side are really worthless, but i don't use them anyways.

Diamondback and Copperhead are piece of junk. Had them and they both broke in first 3 months...

Go for deathadder (i use it now) and you ll have no problems. I also like the sensor more. Compared to two above it ll last forever and it s half the price of Copperhead btw. Also all buttons are reliable, side buttons are strong and two main ones wont stop clicking (wear out) after couple of games.

It's a rock solid gaming mouse that's why

the diamondback 3g:

+diamondback shape
+no pixelskipping like the first diamondback editions (fixed in later versions)

-negative accel
-stiff cord (unlike the soft cord on the db the db3g has a plastic cord)
-coating (the glossy surface of the db was superior)

One would expect the DB to track like a DA, but this is not the case.

They pretty much managed to downgrade the mouse.
Razer is truly made by gamers for gamers!

Think the pro version of the db still has a decent sensor, but not sure.

I have been abusing my original diamondback for 5 years now and it still works like a charm with no sign of it giving up anytime soon

My Diamonback had a cabla break and unfortunately this was quite common for the old one, no idea whether they fied it or not. Back then I bought a Deathadder (old one with 1800 dpi) and I still use it after three or more years. Every button works still fine and trust me you can flick it around as much as you like and you won't have any accel, jibber or whatever (at 900 dpi and 1800 don't know about 450 though). Imo the mouse is kinda heavy for quake, but so far it's the best one I ever have played with.

I think the diamondback is no longer available.
So as soon my diamondback, is dead ... i am going to be a Deathadder's player

I don't find any feature, in the razer mouse option, to try to disable this.
So i am sure many pro play with correction. Not so bad.

I think it's a specific firmware that removes the correction, not an option in the Razer interface.

I don't really know. I used a Deathadder for a while without removing correction and it felt ok, but it died so I switched to a WMO and it somehow feels better to me, but that might not have anything to do with correction.

I guess if it feels ok to you just use it. You can always try without correction to see how you like it and switch back if it doesn't feel right.

I've been using the diamondback since they came out in 2004(?). I think I'm on my 3rd now over the course of 6 years which I consider to be great. The very first one I had lasted the longest time, I think until 2007. I've never experienced any of the above problems concerning durability except that on my first one, towards the end of its 3year life-span the wire did start to go.

I'm not sure about the "correction" thing, but I've always found one of the strong points of ambidextrous mice like my db (non-3g) in general was the ability to track very efficiently on the horizontal plane.

In my opinion the mouse has a great shape for someone with small hands like myself. I wouldn't be able to learn another mouse now after those 6years of using it exclusively for competitive games.

The biggest down-side of the diamondback and perhaps any razer mouse product is that the drivers are horrendous.

I bought a 3g once, but the sensor just DIDN'T work on my icemat so I had to get the old model with the old sensor again. (although I've since switched to cloth now i'm not playing serious mode anymore)

He prolly learned more in one hour than you in 10 hours playtime.

Maybe he doesn't have that time to waste because he has to work and earn some money. He spends 30 bucks from his well earned money to improve his gameplay way faster than he would to without strenx's help. In the end he might be better with one hour than you with 10 hours playtime. I think I don't need to mention how much money you can earn in those 9 hours or do whatever da fuck you want.
I neither want to defend him nor would I ever pay a pro for lessons but I wouldn't call him a loser as long as I don't know his intentions.

If the DB 3G were designed better I would still be using it right now. The problem is you can't set it at 800 dpi and keep it there. Sure you can set it in the drivers but if you put your computer in standby and wake out of it it resets to 1800 dpi.

I use 800 dpi for my DB 3G (green) ... i never notice any problem with dpi ...
But i never put my computer in standby ... i prefere clear reboot ... and clean memory.

This man speaks the truth. This is coming from someone who used to own a DB3G.

I switched for WMO to DB 3G, because WMO's mouse cable is horrible.

And i really like and need the extra button.

Now ... razer's mouse are really good, if cypher and av3k uses little mouse like the DB 3G ... Abyssus , Salmosa etc ... i think DB 3G is good too.

Correction or not ... i am way more accurate.
With this mouse, i am doing defensives moves more easier.
It took time, and experience :

- playing during 9 months with a DB 3G
- playing 1 year with a WMO
- back now with the DB 3G since 2 months.

Cypher uses it cause its his sponsor, everybody knows he played better when he used the wmo.
