yes it is still in development, but I'm not able to work on it atm, as I am moving to munich next month, gotta prepare a lot of stuff.. when I'm done moving, I will be on it again and we will sure bring out a playable version.

So, i have to make my own mod to kinda 'blame' bandit, for announcing several times that his mod will "crash mods like q4max" with such a huge feature set and then it comes to Releases
I don't see any posts of him...

oh boy, I'm sorry, really painful sorry that I'm not a 15 year old uber skilled coder which has lots of free time, no friends and a high end computer to develop my mod.

Reality is that Quake4 had so many features missing that I had to write them from scratch, while the existent code was lots of times so bad I had to rewrite it too.
Besides, I have a really busy life going on, a slow computer, which takes 1-2 minutes to start up quake 4 in debug mode, and truth is, there are only 2 other persons on my team trying to get something done, and they seems pretty busy with their own life too.
(Not counting the beta testers, altho I'm really grateful for their help!)

Other mods have not started the big change as we did, that's why they are able to bring out a few smaller releases every now and then.

Yes, we could have been ready long time ago, if I wasn't as much busy with real life, and if we had a few more active developers on the mod, but that's how it is.. either you help the mod or you have to wait longer for it to come out.

It seems that you never get it or you don't want to.
I don't blame you for not releasing/not having time to finish the mod. I blame you for your huge Announcements like "with that and this features coming up in GTR there will be no other mod" (sadly it seems that your glorious post is no more) and then, when it comes to release anything, you're hiding yourself. You and yourself alone made that the fellows had high hopes on your mod, not myself or any other guy.

As anthony said it several times to you, don't talk about any other mod, your not able to talk in an objective way. All you say is biased and not true. How could you know that the netcode improvements q4max did is not a big change? Not talking about the whole q4supremacyMod.

And if you remember correctly, i was an beta tester in your team too. But thats another story.

we're working on very cool stuff atm, and you can be sure 0.20 will rock all other mods aside..

i think you've misunderstood my whole concern...

i can't be meant by arqon's quote cause i actually contribute my thoughts to a couple mods (even including GTR - but to be honest, not anymore) plus i am one of the few left who are quite active in the q4max forums. So, what are actually doing, what are you actually "giving back" to the modders?

I could understand your reaction if i've said something like "bandit your mod is completely ridiculous, i could do that in less than 1 week by myself".

1. I need help on the mod, how am I supposed to get help without asking for it ?
The Past news, including the one with the teaser where all just about getting people interested, so there would hopefully join some developers.
Sadly, it failed, but I at least got a small beta team together.

2. I (That is me) never talked about other mods in an offensive way, you must have mixed up comments from some gtr fanboys with mine.

3. I never said anything about the q4max netcode improvements, I've always talked about the improvements compared to BASEQ4, since I don't play Q4Max..

And now don't try to take the "I don't play Q4max" as an offense to Q4max.. I don't play it because it is baseq4 with all the improvements it should have included plus the whole competition stuff, and I really hate baseq4 gameplay. So this is in no way an offense to Q4max, but rather to baseq4, I do see that they've put much work into their mod, maybe even more than I was able to put into my mod.

Don't try to blame things on me that you know shit about.

1. bandit, i didn't said anything about you releasing your teaser, i fully understand why you've released it and i actually like your idea/mod.

As you can read he said he made those news to get some developers on gtr which failed and which was the reason why everything takes so long.

By netcode, are you referring to the cg_unsmoothclients change from 0.82?

I wish I could claim that was a major change, but despite what some would have you believe, the D3 engine prediction system is actually pretty advanced. It just required me identifying what Raven had done to fuck it up, and reverting that change.

cg_unsmoothclients wasn't the only thing i've thought of. But yes, unsmoothclients is for me a very appreciated and gift.
It gives me now a perfect feeling in internet games. It feels nearly as playing on LAN - even with my 50 ping, wonders me how it feels with a ping under 10.

You think you're the only one working pretty much on their own? I've been the only one coding significant parts of q4max for a long time (all help from hemo gratefully accepted, but he'll happily admit that he's no coder).

You dont consider completely rewriting the hud-system, down to the level of implementing text rendering a big change? Sure, I havent tried to to try and change everything in one single release, but to say that there arent major changes is kinda silly.

None of these are reasons why it should take 2 years to release a new build.
