First of all I play CPM, not Quakelive even though I actually did play a few duels a couple of months ago when it was fresh, so I'm not really sure why it says never.

Second of all, my current computer can run Starcraft for about 10 minutes before I start feeling performance issues. (Dell Mini 9, bought it for like 150$). So that would explain my absence if I actually wanted to play QL.

Thirdly, whats your point with linking my QL profile, all I said was "I'd rather play", doesn't mean I do either.

Lastly this is starting to feel like a stupid Jamerio reply, I better stop.

So basically, it is timing trainer, but kind of overdone one. All you need is a sheet of paper with times printed on it, from 0:01 to 0:59. And then you going through the list adding 25 or 35 and remembering outcome. After very short time, you will remember it all and never will need such trainers, as you implemented. ;)

Basically, this is the simplest aspect of timing. Could someone give any advice how to time RA and mega effectively under stress, losing 34 to -1?

I think this is the thing, remembering the results rather than actually performing the arithmetic. I still don't think it's THAT easy. You have to remember 120 different results for RA and MH combined... I guess the more of these you know the better feel you develop and the easier it gets to interpolate between the ones you know.

You can try to remember the spawn times for the whole game.
MH often gets picked up the first time at something like 0:03, therefore spawns at about (rounded up numbers for simplicity)
0:05
0:40
1:15
1:50
2:25
3:00

From 3:00, spawn times repeat again (same 6:00, 9:00, 12:00, ...). So basically all you need to remember is 6 numbers (fairly ez) and the offset of MH ("2 secs early", "7secs late"). Might help with timing armours as you need to think less about mega this way.

The first step is crunching the numbers. A written chart of times and their corresponding "next respawn" timings and practicing them in-game is easily the best solution, as a couple solid weeks of dueling will make this second nature.

The second step -- easily the hardest one -- is constantly memorizing the numbers while you're playing. This is very cognitively demanding on top of all the equally demanding things that go into dueling, which is why players like dkt don't really time items.

this is the human way, get ur friend on vent, and keep shouting times when u take an item, let him keep track of things and shout u the time 10s before.

lol, cheating anyway. I helped someone this way against a pro-quality player, results were hilarious, my guy still lost by 2 frags but it was fun to see how very accurate timing can create pressure against an experienced duel player with 5x better aim.

I've written a small script in Excel which makes a randomized sheet of ~80 numbers being colored red and blue. The idea behind it is that you print it on an A4 paper and write the timings behind each number. A red number is an armour, a blue number being a health.

If anyone is interested I could post it.

This thread made me wonder if i would put 3 clocks next to my monitor which would time items for me(for example clock will start counting when i press pedals underneath my desk - just like in car - u press clutch red clock is activated and times RA and so on with another big items) It will be considered cheating on lan or its allowed? maybe its fooking stupid question but iam new to quake and this idea just bounced into my head :P

Just do like Strenx when he plays at home, he uses somes slaves :

- his dad to time mh.
- his mum to time red armor

- his brother watch stream to give somes pointers where is the opponent in the map.

you're using an external timer, of course it's cheating. no external application/ external "hardware" of any sort if allowed in leagues (and frowned upon by everyone else).
