Though here's my impression:

+ some very unique frags
+ nice quality
+ quite many of those frags n shit
- fookin hate those 1-2min intros to the movie (just adds to the download size! :P)
- it was quite wierd to make a movie in 'widescreen' (not fullscreen), even though I've seen some of such before it's still kinda sick to me to not see the whole picture :( (however, it did save some MBs on the movie size)

Well, I will probably make anything I'm releasing with cinematic bars... I dont know but I feel it looks nicer :p

I still have to learn how to put less time in an intro (or at least make it shorter)

nar a good intro is great in a movie, i still love the dde2 movie and the clipquake movie, their intros with the good tunes just set the scene nicely for the rest of the movie!

Its the tune from the movie "Bad Company" with Antony Hopkins. The CD doesn't have the tune on it :( and I just cant find it.

Anyways movie was good, alto i prefer the in air action combo's above the in air rockets.

Combo's are easy, and we aint gonna play 2k3 or 2k4 :D

hmm, good frags and all but that so called 'cinematic effect' is fucking annoying smiley :| the sound of the frags was too loud over the sound of the music in places but other than that it's nice stuff. klovne always manages to make me laugh.

i download frag movies from all different games and dont like the actual games. To me unreal is slow and not half as skillful as quake but a decent frag movie can at least highlight its good points.

Not everyone encodes in mp3 and end up with a huge file size for the movie, and the picture is jerky tho i understand its cuz unreal is a second rate game made by a second rate developer and cannot have the demo support that games like quake can enjoy from ID.

I give it a 8/10. I liked the frags and there was some nice editing. I liked the intro. Must have been a lot of work in that. It was only a little sucky that there was lag :D in the intro.

Sucky was that I missed the kick out of like disposable hero's. I've watched that one a couple of times and if you look at the frags then this movie would beat by far, but the set up from disposable hero's was just better I think. Anyways, maybe you should have made some parts in there which ain't amazing frags only.
You pretty much stole 2 movie songs I might wanted to use too :D but that's ok. I didn't like the music a lot though, it just didn't have it.

Anyways, soz about the hard comment, but I thought I'd be honest here. Smiley still is the king of ut-movie-making :D

good movie, too long intro even tho it has an amazing quality, editing is top but I didn't like the frags as much as in Retaliation which makes it a bit better than yours I think. Top movie anyways, good job!

Cinematic bars make it feel like a movie, not a demo, which is great. I hate long credits - unless they're done really well as in The Gift Of Game, which is from the editing aspect the best movie I've seen yet. Though Hard Clan - Die Hard and JoKa XviD2 come close.

Haven't checked this one out yet, but I thought [R]etaliation lacked the pace and general coolness I expected. Disposable Heroes was great, still have it on my hard drive, let's see if this one can live up to that. =)

I love the intro, its a great touch to start off the movie and musta taken a long time to sort out, the frags are mental as with [r]etaliation and the music is fitting and original. The editing skills on display here are again very proffesional, its just a shame that this and its contemporaries were not released 2 years ealier as they would have blown fooze and xsu straight out the water.

The only gripe i got is that theres too much deck, but i guess thats cos it is the most played ut map by far. Other than that tho, another excellent movie!

OK, I take back my previous criticisms or rather skepticism, and say that this movie is quite simply fantastic. Some great frags, coupled with perhaps the best editing I've seen, as well as a nice soundtrack. Only complaint (which is more for UT than the movie) is that there's too much Deck17! I can't stand any more Deck17 sniper/shock/rocket frags, too much is too much!

Shame about the laggy intro though, I'd prefer it to be re-rendered or something like that, it's a bit annoying that the rest of the movie is superb quality, but the intro jerks all over.

This is by far the BEST UT frag movie I have ever seen (i have seen quite a lot have a movie collection of ~140 movies). A lot of players will have to agree on this one.

I liked the widescreen effect because it was something new and it was done with high quality. As for intro's - maybe for someone they seemed too long or needless but i disagree here - they were nicely done - so why complain ?

In game sounds were great - maybe at some moments too loud - but hey..who cares ?

This is an example for every frag movie. Outstanding job Smiley and POWAH!

maybe a all frag movie is good, it's just the building up the exitement or how do u call it. I missed the open mouth effect a bit. Not that the frags/editing or whatever are bad, it's more like how you put the movie together. It's a very good movie though, it's more like a discusion point.

I know exactly what you mean with building up effect... but that also requires the right type of music... which was extremely hard to find for some reason :p

This movie is a perfect example of "building up an effect". Just compare it to [R]etaliation which doesnt have any feeling although it had good effects, frags and stuff.

It depends on if the one who recorded the demo uses visible weapon. I don't use it so in my demos my weapon will never be visible.. or atleast i think thats why there never is any weapons shown.. to bad possibly, but thats how it is.

yeah, I was allready thinking when writing down my last post that it could be the music. That often is the difference maker. It's like with: Daft Punk - Aerodynamic u used. U got most of the songs back up from it, but not that extra which you wanna have. Anyways, this is the hardest part from creating a movie I think. It's the most creative part, which you can't fill up with technic.

Anyways, I don't wanna pull the movie down to hard. Smiley is the best movie maker at ut and this movie is very good.

ok my opinion :

+ editing is good
+ good xvid encoding
+ music is not as crap as in the other movies but...
- it's still crap (aerodynamic has already been used hundreds of times)
- 75% of the frags are airshots (not a lot of x-kills, no sprees, no amp runs, not a lot of funny frags)
- 75% of the frags are recorded on deck16
- long intro, long credits, that sux =/ (but it's always the same)

Conclusion : movies are for fun, so spend less time on the editing, and spend much time on making various frags =) For example, my favorite videos are the xsreality ones (especially the gold one) and there is no awesome editing : just awesome frags.

actually I like xsu:gold for its awesome editing, not its so called awesome frags ;)

and yeah.. I cant really help it that everyone likes deck16 more then other maps lol

no sprees... well, I guess the headshot runs by klovne are sprees ;)

oh and.. name one movie that uses areodynamic... I dont recall any UT movie using it... or maybe you ment a quake movie but hey I'm not gonna go through every movie just to see if a song I want to use is already used :)

I have never seen aerodynamic in a movie before, and trust me, i have seen a lot of movies. Uhm, 75% of the frags are airshots, well that is because airshots are the hardest to hit and the nicest to look at. UT happens to be a little "shocky" when not moving in the air. Maybe it wasnt smileys intention to include "funny" frags, or amp runs. I mean for amp runs, (monsterills etc) go play insta. No sprees, hmm did u see the 2 headshot-sprees Klovne made? I dont know what a spree is by your means then.
SPEND LESS TIME ON THE EDITTING? WTF? That's what movie making is all about. Else I could just give you a nice .rar file with demo's. Btw, smiley just editted the movie and POWAH made the frags. ALSO , in xsu gold, 75 % are also airkills so ehm..

I suggest you watch demos of your old heroes to see if they were really as awesome as you remember.

lol you will have a lot of friends with this reply. Anyway, I will explain myself : I don't care about those minigun frags, snipe frags etc... What would be cool would be showing the big lines of a tough final for example, with one clan leading at the beginning, the other leading at the middle of the match, and an overtime frag at the end etc... Or maybe showing an overview of the tactics used, not only punctual frags. Movies are always personal achievments, never team achievments. A great movie about teamplay would be nice, but I know I'll never see that kind of movie released (except in CTF or other non-frag-based mods) =)

I always tend to hate the "teamplay" part in every movie. I also dont care much for tactics in a movie. I mean, you dont want to see a movie of smiley editting the powah2 movie, only the result, rt? And tom, okaaaaaay I was mistaken ;x

that's nice to make effects etc, but imo movies like fooze or Levi ones were my favorites, skill, TP, fun and diversity = teh best.

Imo the intro was just long enough and very well done. It's not like you make that intro over 1 hour (unless smiley is even better then he allready is :D). And aerodinamic had been used on a ut2003 movie, if my memorie is right. It has been used b4 anyways, saw allmost all ut, ut2k3 and ut2k4 movies. Anyways imo if the song doesn't remind you of a movie clearly then it's ok. I mean there ain't much good songs for movies to find and it didn't remind me of a other movie. Smiley got pretty much the best out of the song.
