i dont know if you can record a demo but you can export his pov as video

Thats the only workaround I've found so far, but unfortunately, 1 minute of the demo = 7.5 gb AVI file..... which is insane lol, there must be a better way

use /cl_aviframerate to lower the fps and video size, also use 720p resolution and later you can compress the video in sony vegas or sth simmilar. If you dont wanna go to all that trouble and you dont care about quality that much you can capture it with OBS

shit its already set at cl_aviframerate 25 , i guess ill have to try to use OBS

Wolfcam just encodes what it shows on the screen, frame by frame, it's not rendering twice, once to the screen, and then a second time with a completely different settup including who /follow is on for encoding, hell that would take a far more major overhaul of the Q3A code than even wolfcam does.

You've either opened the wrong file, or not set /follow before you called \video

When I /video avi , it records what is shown on screen (including /follow etc).

What I was trying to do is record a new demo 91 file, but this time from the other players pov by using /follow and then /record. Unfortunately wolfcam doesnt work that way, and exporting massive avi files and then compressing them with additional software takes far too long. Ended up just going with OBS, since quality isn't really important (just uploading video of possible toggler for someone)

wolfcam-ql can aslo use cl_aviCodec huffyuv to make file X times less but it won't help you much.

/record just records demo, and because demo is from your pov it won't magically change (follow is only a command to show different pov on screen)

/video avi is uncompressed, uncompressed video is big, you have to encode it to make it easier to handle
