Nah, we just need bethesda to hire someone to code matchmaking before steam release. With those 6k peaks and a matchmaking things could have ended differently

Could have but the clusterfuck of the initial matches where everyone was unranked would still have caused some damage. Quake is so unforgiving with its skill curve that even marginal differences in skill can create huge rapes. Let alone when you have a complete noob versus a veteran of 5, 6, 7, 10 years.

Yea I guess that's true. First few days would be awful. And later it still wouldn't be perfect for duel, but team modes would get balanced. Even tdm pickup bot most of the timr manages to make even teams with just 8 people available

I hope Valve is putting together an elaborate troll on the TF2 Comp Community. Fingers Crossed.
