SS WMO from Takasta? (19 comments)

So I have a G100s and an IE 3.0. I love the shape of the G100s and tried out a broken WMO for the shape and it was great. Takasta is selling SS WMOs on eBay and I am wondering if these are truly legit. I'm pretty confident it will have the MLT 04 sensor, but is it updated with the omrons? Can anybody confirm that it has omron switches? I want to know because if I ever get the double click bug, I'd be able to fix it if it has omrons by opening the switches. Thanks, guys!

No omron switches in any WMO. The switches in WMO are square instead of rectangular but there are modders on this forum that has installed omrons in their WMO.

This is the internal of my takasta-WMO.

They are refurbished wmos, the PCB is taken from an old one.

Fortunately my switches are in good conditions, but i think i will replace them with Omrons when i have time to do that :)

Your PCB came like that? That looks really dirty in the picture. It works okay? Scary thought for me contemplating on buying from takasta. Lol.

yes it came like that.

there's a lot of rust, i tried to clean it a little bit after taking the photo.

It works well, the mousefeet were very bad, but i replaced them with better ones.

I think they just take old WMOs and remould new mouse plastic cases, those mice are refurbished.

What steps did you take to clean it? Have a pic of it now? I think Takasta sells the X80 models, so is yours the 9K FPS MLT04 or 6K FPS? Thanks

i cleaned the pcb with some specific spray. But it's not necessary because the mouse already worked fine.

I don't know what those numbers mean, X80 models are good or not?

How can i check if mine is 9K FPS MLT04 or 6K FPS?

It's fine. I had the yellow (non glossy) version and the surface was pretty good, maybe a little too smooth for myself, but fine nonetheless.

Haha well I already have one, but the cable is pretty much shot. I'd almost rather spend the $21 replacing the switches in this to omrons and making a new cable for it.
