start the game via terminal and when it crashes read up on the error te.. oh wait windows :(

i think theres no easy answer for this. maybe server connection aint the problem but starting the openGL render when you actually connect is. only thing you can do is try & error reinstall the game, update video drivers blablabla.
try to remember if you did anything to your pc in between <it worked in the past> and <it doesnt work now> to isolate the problem.
