"Special awards" was already discussed in the "Donation" thread, but I wanted to make a separate thread to put more focus on it just in case it materializes.

Some already suggested awards:

Best Frag
Biggest Upset
Best Match
Comeback of the event
Fail of the year
Boogieman award (Breakthrough award, [excluding top seed] awarded to players from high seed to low seed who can break top 3 overall)

best map (best game)
Final Boss award (awarded to the stat-whore of the tournament)

I'd like to see best map, best set and biggest comeback of the tournament. maybe one for 'breakthrough'.

I don't think people should be given cash prizes for basically messing up. things like fail of the tournament if they are going to get anything should be something very cheap...

I guess "Fail of the year" award is really easy to achieve and actually someone already won this award before the event even started ;).

Also another 'someone we know' should get the "killer of qwak" award :P

Or, in spirit of socialist Sweden:

Imo only positive awards would be cool. So no 'fail awards'.

So for example:

- Most impressive comeback award
- Most impressive frag/play award
- Most unexpected performance award
- Funniest frag/situation award (every tournament funny shit happens ingame)
