once you've installed it

windows key + r, type cmd, press enter

type

harddrive:\livestreamer dir\livestreamer.exe twitch.tv/nameofstream quality (240p/360p/480p/720p/live)

ex : c:\livestreamer\livestreamer.exe twitch.tv/qlrankstv live

it'll open vlc and run the stream

yeah that's why I posted this small "guide". it's really really simple
the other stuff is nice as it allows you to log in with your account and access the streams you're following but it you just want to watch a channel, that's the simplest way (for me)

with my old netbook (eeepc 701) I can watch a 720p stream smoothly, if I try the same channel using firefox 4 (because 1.5 is slower with twitch, which is odd, but w/e) I can barely watch in 240p

you should be able to watch anything with a 2.4Ghz dual core, though... especially since flash (as garbage as it is) uses your gfx card to carry some of the load now

Try flash 10.3. I find anything 11.x is shit and I had a lot of issues with it. Uninstall what you have and try out a different version http://forums.adobe.com/thread/889580

im at 10.3 now, downgraded from 11.6 or something, twitch is still 100%cpu.

2.4 ghz dual core should be able to do it. my 1.3 dual core laptop is fine although the fan goes near full speed.

someone suggested firefox to be the problem in pm, will try other browsers aswell now

for me, chrome is even worse than firefox.
you don't even have to specify the full path to livestreamer btw, the following in cli will do:
livestreamer twitch.tv/faceittv best
also it's pretty neat if you ever want to record a stream

90% youtube vidoes doesn't PLAY. Some videos loads just fine.


I don't know what happened, installed some program, but not related to flashplayer and other shit (mini word program for *.doc files). Maybe it's not this program fault..
I have uninstalled everything I installed 2 days interval.
Instaled 10.3 flashplayer, reinstaled firefox to new version.
Tryed IE, Chrome browers.

Gone shit for me too, I noticed youtube seem to have a new shitty ad program in place where it says something about choosing what ads to watch etc.

Dunno what going on at google lately, but its not good.

ok works fine again too. uninstalled / reinstalled ton of programs and it was pointless :D

Yeah I had it too, that's YouTube which had problems a couple of hours ago i guess, works fine atm
