Update

After 9 hours of intense Warsow Duel action

hyrveli has secured the first place in front of

Viigo and the other 13 players.

Huksi`and

LuGia both got on the 3rd place.
Unfortunately the event couldn't be streamed due to the server-machine not having an internet-connection. Videos and Demos from the tournament will follow soon.

The Warsow Team teamed with Jimm's PC Store and Kingston to bring the community a overdue LAN event for the upcoming Warsow release. The tournament will be held during the Assembly Summer 2012 LAN at the Hartwall Arena in Helsinki, Finland.

All matches will be played on PCs provided by Jimm's PC Store and prizes will be sponsored by Kingston. A Duel tournament will be organized. Exact rules are yet to be announced.

Apart from the tournament itself the event is planed to be an opportunity for the community to meet and exchange on a more personal basis.

I don't think that they will get enough bandwidth from the Assembly guys to cast dirrectly from the event, however if they get enough to set up a wsw-tv server with connection to the internet, someone might actually make a stream. I really hope they will.

Don't be so negative, also a lot of the W�W community comes from Finnland/Sweden so I think 16 or more would be realistical and for Warsow that allready would be pretty nice, also it doesn't matter how many turn up as long as they have fun and a good time. :)

Not necessairly some other euros might turn up aswell, Assembly is a big LAN and some people thend to go there just for the fun so if they are there anyways why not enter the tournament?

Ye a clear winner :D. It gains more excitement if you ask me. Daxio is extremely fun to watch but it would be much better if someone could give him close games, like reload or GoReY did few months/years back :/.

The prizepool isn't that huge. It's difficult to get several thousands in prizemoney from sponsors but some hardware? Even a 500 man strong LAN here at my place which didn't have any real online coverage managed to get hardware worth way more than 1000 � from Sponsors like BitFenix, SpeedLink, CoolerMaster aso.

Companies want to sell their products and as long as they don't have to invest values that could cripple them if the event doesn't succed they will happily throw out some hardware (which in the production only cost's them like 5% of what they sell it for).

What's so bad about it? He only points out that the game was mentioned on one of the biggest (console) gaming forums around in a positive way. Don't see any rellation to how "dead" the game is. A game is dead when noone plays it but I see quite some activity in 0.62 and 0.7b2, so y u hatin?
