You can't have independent resolutions in clone mode. You need to make them extended instead.

yup it is, if you set display to clone in nvidia control panel.. then on the right list of options you choose "change resolution"

there will be 2 icons, 1 of your monitor and 1 for hdmi, you click on them to set the resolution for each display

when you change 1 resolution, it will change the other and try be a smart ass which doesnt work and just makes the desktop on your tv not fit fully so you have to scroll it around up/down

the only way clone view works is if you use a native display for desktop and tv, which no1 wants there desktop to be using 1240/ or whatever

p0rt is right. i didn't know about this until ive seen it on a friends setup who infact doesn't have a clue about such things. (i did the whole installation for him) he changed resulution in a way i wouldn't try myself (the oldschool way> right click on desctop, change view without driver panel) it was on an ATI HD 5xxx though.

i have no need for extended mode, 170 drivers used to work, but if you reinstall them after an upgrade, clone mode will still have a scrolling desktop

if you set your desktop to 1600x1200, then set your hdmi tv to another resolution, it will change your desktop resolution too, or vice versa in the nvidia control panel

clone mode, you can kick back and play some N4S or n64 emu games with a joypad on your tv, and switch off your monitor, and watch on p0rn
