Instead of make your own gaming league with rubbish prizes just admin for one of the bigger leagues that actually have real prizes.

It's cool that people are dedicated to improving e-sports but I just think they're increasing the problem with e-sports ATM even thought they are trying to do good.

What I mean is, if you google "Online gaming league" or something similar along those lines you will get a massive list of different online gaming sites and how many do you really need.
With all of them having small prizes whats really the point, it would just be better if they all came together and had one decent prize or just admin for a bigger organization like ESL thats already got a good strong foot hold in the e-sports market already.

Actually you're the problem. Thinking that e-Sports is all about one big prize, when players (mostly in Quake) don't participate regardless. You should be grateful you have so many different organizations and opportunities to play with. I agree, to an extent, that there are a bunch of small-time events and leagues who don't deliver a big impact, but it's an impact nonetheless.

I started AG out as a simple Quake 3 fun league, running duel cups with only 20 players for months. I took a big step and did the Quake 3 Masters, which was the biggest event in the fall for Quake (3). It just takes initiative and a lot of cooperation. Without a big participation, leagues won't get those prizes you are hoping for. Every league, from ESL to NGL to GGL, has started out as a small-time league and built themselves up. I've had first-hand experience in that. Every league requires lots of participation, regardless of prizes and who is playing, in order to get better prizes.

If you feel like not playing your favorite game because the prizes aren't suited for your high-class position, then don't play. You shouldn't deserve to be rewarded with that warped mentality of gaming in the first place.

but maybe one big online TOURNAMENT per year would be fantastic!
OFC finals on LAN and only the first placed grabs money or whatever the price is...otherwise it would be a fest for cheaters.

I'm not to focused upon the prize that much TBH, what I was really trying to get at is, whats the point of having multiple gaming leagues and how it would be better if all the prizes and players were wrapped into league instead of being spread out into multiple leagues or having to sign up to multiple ones.

Theirs no point of having multiple gaming leagues when theirs already some big major organizations out their already running leagues.

Like I said before it's cool that people are trying to help grow e-sports but I think that we need to be more focusing upon the bigger leagues out their all ready that are all set up and ready to go with major sponsors.

Mostly in Quake? I suppose Quake players do hold themselves to a higher standard. Some would argue, quality over quantity. I'd think it's more about the fact esports is still developing. Quake players understand, if we develop 'incorrectly', it will be gravely detrimental to our future. There are many predators out there, who would like nothing more than to form a monopoly. If they are allowed to gain such power, esports will suffer until we take them out and rebuild with something proper. Better to avert such circumstances, as doing otherwise would amount to years, if not decades of loss.

True but i'm in 2 minds about that thought.
It might be better if their was a monopoly over e-sports so that way it would become more organized in general, with all the players and events run by one organization meaning they will have the biggest audience so the sponsors will know where to put their money.

But like what they say, don't put all your eggs in one basket.

erzwo, moppz and I are responsible for the QL tournament. I asked for the head (some former cs, did bigger cups in the past) to guarantee that those data are not available to the public and are not abused against laws. As it is a German company, they do have to fulfill very strict rights on that.

As mentioned, he's coming from CS, means those players over there accept the fact that they have to identify themselves somehow to make sure cheaters are not attending, as it's free they accept it. Maybe it doesn't go for QL, if I get it removed I will release a newspost that is planned once coverage is organized.

so far so good, but you never know who will eventually get database access or how secure it is to attacks from the outside. an organization like this simply cannot tell me that my data is save. some people might say that this is overly skeptical or whatever but if you sign up to 100 things like this in a year, sooner or later your data will end up in some scam list or get public, so i try to avoid it if i can.

but you have no chance to verify that the given information is correct. so for the 99% that do not win a prize, this is not an obstacle at all cause they can enter false data (thats what i will eventually do^^)

TBH the 5Hv2s are great headsets. Grats to whoever scores 'em.

The more tournaments the better, so other players than the usual pros get a chance to compete. Don't really care about prices, I want to compete and have fun.

There are a few catches with the way things are run. You always have a few major leagues that support or drop games like they feel the wind of sponsorship blows. When people get tired of a game or usually don't support it as much, it gets dropped.

So the difference here is that almost anyone can organize a competition so I see this site as a welcome service and a precaution on major leagues dropping quake or any other game.

Still it needs some more work and plenty of community cooperation to become a valid site to work with.

You guys should be damn happy that there's still people organizing tournaments for a game with so little players as quake.
Anyway .. the same 5 pros will signup and one of them will win, still a good oportunity to have fun and gain a bit of experience from official games.
