I actually joined that channel a few times in the beginning when i moved down here, but there wasn't that much activity i think. Would be nice to have a game sometime though and get some activity going if there are any people left in that channel. An african QW outpost, how cool isn't that?

Hehehe, well it had a "strong" following of about 10 people that played regularly, but that was when I left SA 3 years ago. Mind you, they were all pretty good, I'm not particularly good because I have ruined my play style playing q3. Still just msg me sometime and we can play a bit, you can teach me some stuff :D

You mentioning them being "pretty good" makes it even more interesting i must say! I've done a few crazy things in ZA and i definitely think playing QW should be one of them (doesn't sound very crazy, but to me playing on a scene i didn't know existed is ;))

Would be nice if we could host a tournament with a few people and perhaps even get a community website going, no matter how small (or big) it gets. :)

Well I had a look on the channels now, and it appears to be very very dead.

Sounds cool. Perhaps a money tournament the next couple of months would be something to attract people (and their friends) with? Or maybe that's not a good idea in SA...i don't know :)

I'd gladly host one if it encourages people even more to join in on the fun. Would of course cover it on the QW sites too.

I know what you mean, i just don't have time to make something myself nor to tailor it so it doesn't look blogish (i don't really have anything against wordpress, but that like 90% of the web nowadays looks like a blog sucks a bit).

Cool, Wordpress makes you really spoiled with convenient editing features though which is part of why i choose it aswell. But perhaps you have that in place!

I'm currently trying to wrap my brain around the Zend Framework for my future projects. It's a pain learning a new framework when you want quick results. At the same time i know the usual quick result-coding leads to a maintenance nightmare. ;)

its like a mainstream site for free, and only includes 3 classes off phpclasses.. you can just disable mods in admin menu and you will get a message like http://c0re.vndv.com/events.php?op=events if someone accesses the page and its not linked on a site menu etc, to save you having to delete aload of files and break it

wysiwyg editors all use html, html is fully disabled through the sanitizer, and i have other things to do then convert html editor to bbcode
