IVGHOF Bootcamp and Tourney Announced (17 comments)

Just today, the organizers of the International Video Games Hall Of Fame event, happening this August, announced that they will be including QuakeLive in its lineup of tournaments. In addition, they also mentioned that the tournament servers will be on LAN. Though the specific rules and map list of the tournament have yet to be announced as of posting, some of the top duelers in North America have already showed interest in attending.

Also, they announced that they will be holding a bootcamp for the veteran players, as the event falls just a week before QuakeCon. Check out the link below for more information about the event and to signup for the tournament.

It's not dodgy at all. I'm one of many helping run this. They are inducting a ton of players from all game genre's into the hall of fame, including fatal1ty and thresh, reason why we wanted quake there in some form. It will be a fantastic event!

its not that time consuming to keep the skill level he reached so why dont participate in some lans for the lulz >:3

well he is 25-30 now if im not wrong and u need to go away from games in these years i think.. work family and staff u know.. but for sure he can just play 4 fun or play in some online cups when he have time but travel to tournaments when u have job kid and staff to do home is hard

also im trying to leave this all internetz shit too but im failing yet :( right now work + gym + gf.. if there comes school soon then i hope i dont get time for esr and quake.. and i think for that hopes 90% ESR too :o)

I'm also volunteer Admin for the Event, working with the guys on making sure everything is run smooth and sound. I live about an hour and a half away from the Venue so I figured I should at least help out!
