I'm looking forward to this whole series. I read one of the books its based on, With the Old Breed, back in college and I was thrilled to hear they used it as a source text. If it's even half as intense as the book, it'll be amazing.

Band of Brothers had brilliant character development. This felt like: "OK, we know they want action, so let's give it to them." The only person I was interested in was the "Professor."

Should've had Colonel Mustard, tbh.

I had exactly the same impression. The first episode of Band of Brothers had an interesting storyline and you knew more or less everything you had to know about the characters and locations. The first episode of The Pacific felt like an overkill, too much things and values packed in a much-too-short-for-all-that episode.

I'm a really big fan of BoB and most of the things produced by Hanks, though, so I'm still anticipating more episodes.

characters aren't really "memorable", if can say that.

i don't even know the name of the guy who met the chick in church, i'm assuming he's supposed to be the main character tho.

Totally agree after 2 episodes..

I'm finding it hard to keep up with the characters.. I didn't even know who the one that died (in the forest on his own) was..

The only ones i remember are the church dude, the little italian dude and the 1 with the heart murmer.

and there was this guy who went on to the battlefield to kick the corpses, he somehow came out of nowhere, but was somehow in the focus most of the time. the guy who burned his arms i mean...

yeah and the guy who died.. whatever, they didnt give a shit about that first kid, who got shot withing 5 minutes of episode2, and 3 days later its like that mexican is their best friend...

I don't remember a single name of any of the characters so far. Totally not memorable at all. I remember Peaches. Still not a real name though.

Either way, the second episode was better than the first. Lets hope it keeps improving.

Edit: Watching Generation Kill right now. Seems fun thus far
