the engine was pretty awesome when the first game was released

Why do you care so much about the engine? I don't give a flying fuck if the engine's the same and I wish more companies would reuse engines and assets so they could spend more time and attention on getting the gameplay right.

the game play which hasn't changed at all, thats my main point in all of this. Random spawns of enemies, weak quest missions, disguised linear gameplay, not just the engine im on about the gameplay.


I bet you any money Pripyat is no different from the 1st 2.

If the game's no better then I'd agree.

I'd rather they keep the engine with slight modifications and keep the amazingly immersive atmosphere that has become akin with the stalker name than take a year or so longer to create a new game that ends up dissapointing.

Considering that these games are all based in exactly the same place with interwining stories, I have thought of CS and CoP in a similiar way to half life 2 episodes 1 & 2. Especially as valve is taking just as long to create 3-4 hour long games with the same engine and the same ongoing plot.

I fully support GSC and hope they continue to create great games in the shadow of intimidating larger developers.

so is it using the engine from the 1st stalker or the 2nd? if its the 1st ill give it a go, 2nd ones engine ran like crap on here.
