I was wondering if there is any way to 'downgrade' my quake3 so I can watch dm_48 demos, seismovision fucks up quake.

I've got quake3 installed 2 times, one for playing, the other for viewing older demo types, but sadly, it installed version 1.30(.dm_66), and trying to run point release 1.17 over it just makes it crash.

use Seismovision
no need to have multiple installs or anything
watch any demo from any patch/mod
with the exception of Q3test demos

So far so good, last time I tried seismovision it broke the game when trying to load a .dm3:P

you have to convert dm3 files first to may watch it using seismovision

there is everything in a context menu, just right click on a file and convert, than run

isnt it so that cpma plays all the older demos?

you can get yourself a version swithcer, to switch between the older point releases

i think one of the version switchers was named "ofx", theres a few of th em so i think you can still find some on the net

seismovision provides q3 executables of every version (last time i used it). rename the executable to exe. remove the latest patch pk3's... one by one from the latest to the oldest until the game runs fine. pak0 release needs the cd in drive though (i think that was 1.11 version)..
