gtv: games1.olympus.ru (I only watched an hour or so, then it went offline, and so we missed most of the exciting games)

games1... is back online, all the servers seem to be empty though.

I get "invalid game folder" when i try to join : / I googled it but it just had stuff about bootlegged servers....

i got that too, but after i reinstalled point release and lauched q with myphack i could connect wihout any errors

Thanks, i learn a new thing every day. Shame this really is Q3's biggest let down, you really need google to find odd little files just to connect, this is about the only thing Q4 has over Q3.

what, you're joking right? It might be ok now in q4, but for a long long time you needed to have all the maps the pov/server had, otherwise you couldn't run it. god, that was frustrating.
Besides this dodgy myphack thing, I don't remember having any problems connecting to gtv's in q3.

Yea granted, but Q4 was broken on release (when they anounced it "went gold" they forgot to say it was fools gold) but it got sorted. But q3 was released before the internet became the most important thing in the world (for some)

the myphack thing is not needed for any proper server or demo.
