true, but i doubt casual games are the future. Yes there is a huge market for it, but in referring to the "future" as saying, "this is the next big thing," I highly doubt it. Competitive gaming will always be where the most money and glory is to be had.

I'm trying to understand your post.. i'm failing. what do you mean you doubt casual games are the future? what do you mean you doubt it's the next big thing? and what has competitive gaming to do with anything?

this is in refernece to the name of the thread, "Are casual games the future?" and im trying to define what the "future" is for casual/competitive gaming by comparing and contrasting which has more potential to be the main focus of gamers.

So you mean the main focus of the average gamer then? And what do we mean by gamer here; someone playing mp fps, or sp fps, or perhaps mmorpg, what about sp rpg, or flashgames or even snake2 on a mobile phone? since the article seems to be implying all of them, the main focus of an avg. gamer seems like asking what the main focus of people in pools of water is.

I don't understand this...when the hell has the casual gamer not been the majority, and what the hell is this concept of non-gamers flocking to it? Everyone has played a video game now and then...its just getting more and more recognition in the media, and if anything hardcore gamers are becoming more and more recognized, not vice-versa.

quake zero might reawken it but we have the skillz up to a decent level that the odd duel here and there and some ctf quenches the thirst. i want to have a decent goal once again to start hammering 100%

i really do hope quake zero is like the old days of q3pickup till your hands hurt with loads of leagues to play in and constantly be improving :D

it better have a decent lg skin anyway!!
