It's not that big of an increase on my e-penis to have a trusted user level. All it gives me is a possibility to post major news and thats it.

I'd much rather approve posts than post tacky major news. There are already somewhat 10 news posters who can keep the news interesting and I think it's better to leave the news posting to them.

Sujoy said he is doing something to the userlevels at some point so non-admin members could post polls and other stuff (not regulars and such ofcourse).

edit: Oh and to answer to your question: At some point some admin just decides that you should have it.

I guess just contribute something to the site and then ask for an upgrade based on your contribution.

I'll have to put something more concrete in place at some point.

Trusted user basically means nothing except a title

You cant do a thing with it , whereas when you are a user admin or so afaik you can do a lot of stuff.

I mean if you want to be an admin, just act mature and contribute stuff then ask someone.

Post alot of usefull news items, make a couple of good journals and do pretty much everything the opposite way as I do and you might get your admin level in no time.
