You'll be wanting q4 1.1 with that error (but q4max 0.74b I guess).

It's quite easy to edit the demos for protocol compatibility provided you have a hex editor - it's stored at offset 8 or something.
I've fixed the demos : grab them here. Just needs an admin to replace the file if you want ;)

hey man, i've got a really important demo from my eswc qualifier that we played on 1.2, i get the same problem. i've downloaded a hex editor, but i dont know where to edit :(

Well, if it really was recorded in 1.2 then thats not the issue - but more likely it was recorded using q4max 0.74b using q4 1.1.

The protocol version is at bytes 910 + 11/12 in the file.

The first 4 bytes are "NDMO", followed by a 4 byte value I dont know the meaning of. (value of 10 in the demo I looked at). You'll then get the protocol minor version (68 / 69) as a 2 byte value, followed by the protocol major version (2) also as a 2 byte value.

Change the protocol minor version to the one you want and it'll work fine, assuming it really is network compatible. Q4Max 0.74 running under 1.1 and 1.2 is network compatible regardless of the q4 version, however you cannot use this technique to make a q4max 0.73 demo play in 1.2 / q4max 0.74 as there are other changes that affect compatibility.

Go to offset 8 - replace 44 (68 decimal) with 45 (69 decimal).

i got the problem of not having the right version of methtourney1.pk4 (checksum 0x7747b437).
proper version is HERE

make sure you play the demos hemoseak fixed above :)
and make sure you save the other methtourney version, because i think the one needed here is actually an older version...
