Personally I used to find that the original diamondback sensor was better than the 3g one. I can only give anecdotal evidence as I have no idea about the technical side of it.

The old DB's first pieces came with a slightly faulty sensor, which has a tendency to skip one pixel, if you horizontally change directions rapidly. It's not a too big of an issue, but it's there. A bit later, they updated the sensor in the Diamondback Plasma (and other DBs too based on other sources), and these newer electronics were implemented into the Krait too.

The major differences between the vanilla and 3G version (besides the sensor) is the rubber-coating on the newer model and slight changes in the dimensions and weight. If you want to choose between the two, it really comes down to preference, though I would choose the older version.

The white Pro Click v1.6 is not a good choice, because even if it has the same old sensor, like the original DB, the firmware is different and it's not really consistent for gaming.

The only mouse I could find was a Pro Click v1.6 actually. Else I have to buy from eBay for $80+ or some chinese sites. It will all be really costly.

So what's not consistent with the Pro Click? If you tell me, maybe I can live with that.

I have a brand new DeathAdder laying around but I can't seem to get used to it. My hand actually hurts when I use it. Maybe because I've been using a ambidextrous Xai mouse all the time and got used to it.

Do you think I can get used to the Deathadder even though I've tried for 2 days and my hand still hurts?

Having tried a lot of different mouse shapes during the past year, I think its a normal thing (at least for some people), and its really annoying. It mostly happens like you say, when the shape is a lot different to the previous mouse, or if you've been trying a lot of different shaped mice.

The first week there can be some pain, but after that, unless its actually a bad design, it will start to feel much better. So I would say you need at least a week before things start to settle down. I think 2-3 days is where the discomfort will peak, and after that will gradually get better, though its probably different for everyone.

from my experience, the ProClick 1.6 is basically the same as the old Diamondback, just different looks. it was part of a range of Razer products called the Pro Series, which were basically all-white Mac compatible premium products. it even included versions of other products like the Tarantula and Exactmat. i don't think you should have any problems with using that mouse, the sensor was perfectly fine back when i tried it. why don't you consider other similar options like Salmosa?

3G all the way. Best sensor ever if you don't mind prediction. Worst mouse wheel ever.

Also 3G has rubberized top (better for sweating) but glossy sides (so still perfect traction/control), perfect combination which is still not the standard in gaming mice, very surprisingly.
