Actually, by definition Zoom3 is a 64k Intro rather than a Demo (which are mostly larger than 1 MB).

if only people could understand the beauty of a 64k intro :/ when visiting mixed lanparties (gaming/scene) there's actually people going like "wtf, this sucks - where's the mad graphics?" during the 64k compos. i just feel like walking straight up to them and punch them in the face. it's not that badass Havok-engine which everyone's talking about, it's not that badass 3d-engine which takes 7 weeks to compile. no sir. this is 64kb of pure, realtime-rendered code. but i guess you will have to be more or less involved in the programming scene to understand the purpose and beauty of it :)

the product is very good but you can't compare a 6k intro with a megademo IMO :-)

I've got a few demos here and there but my favourite related thing is the chiptune stuff. A friend and I played a selection of chips at a party, worked out ok (never try it without receptive people, or only with narrow minded people).
Maybe we'll do it again :)

it was done by Tim Clarke in like '93 or something. Read the little note underneath the demo link on that site. Imagine getting headhunted by Lunacorp for writing something like that! He now works for elixir studios whos last game was Republic the Revolution. :)

Those, I at least, count as the greatest LANs in the demoscene!

64k intro's are impressive. They are written in assembler, machinecode. And to learn that, you must be dedicated. It takes a lot of effort to produce anything in it. It's so powerful, that a few lines explains more then 10 a4 pages of c++ could do (exaggerating a little, but close to the truth).

My favorite through all times have been 2ndreality, by Future Crew.

.squish by byTe is the most awesome 64 kb demo (actually a demo) ever! It took the programmer 1 year to finish the final version of it. And the result, I must say is incredible. Recommended for all demoscene fans =)

what about mekka & symposium demo-scene party? (i think it's in Germany) I'm sort of into gbadev and some really kewl gba stuff came from this event in early 2002, in particular my fav demo fr-018 programmed mainly by exoticorn.

Best demo I've ever scene was at last year's Assembly in the 64k Intro category. Made by the Hungarian group Conspiracy, The Prophecy is absolutely shockingly amazing. You have to watch it. HAVE TO.

Not sure, Never saw it on the PC but I'm sure it was converted. Prlly could run it on an emulator or something.
