Come on, Toxic delivers great number of excitement factors to the (both) tournament(s), everybody agrees on that. I'm more happy to see him on that list than those 10 same players over and over again.

I don't care about his 1v1 Q3 achievements and if he deserves or not to be in this elite *laugh* group of players. The truth is, with his duel Q4 experience and a bit more serious practise (he still doesn't care much seeing how low QL is), he would be top6 in no-time. I would invite him in the first place anyway :o)

yeah the prize distribution sucks, this tournament is basicly a show of good will from both parties. dh admins for hosting this without that much apparent gain and teams showing up on their own money. atleast they could make it so that atleast top8 gets something, to help with the travel expenses, that way theres a bigger possibility that teams will show up for future lans (if there are any).

Wonder if an even could get its prizepool bumped up by donations from the community. That's the only way I can think of to make it bigger than what we've seen for a few years now.

you need to decide if its an e-sports competition or a community event.

if its supposed to be an e-sports event, then ofc teams will expect to win more than the actual costs of arriving and taking part of the tournament.

if its a community event, then teams do not expect to pay 200e/team to take part while giving all of that to the winner. the costs of travelling and hotel/etc is already enough for any team to pay out of their own pocket.

this kind of model will not support any growth or future lans if 14/16 teams take a net loss, second place ~cuts even and winner can afford the beers they drink at the afterparty. if the vast majority of teams will take a net loss and deem it not worthy of going again, then future lans wont be succesfull at all. the more teams and players you have, the better the lans will get. you need to build it from the ground up, not from the top
