Well, there's kinda two options to it to be fair:

1. Put up with the spam and watch Quake matches every week
2. Complain, spam stops, tournaments stop, we go back to the odd tournament here and there.

These are weekly duel cups. No reason to spam this shit when everyone already knows about it.

And yet every week you still get people posting in the threads asking for links of streams and stuff :P

I still forget about the cups, so I don't mind the spam ;D

It's not like there's a WEALTH of other news that these two posts per week are getting in the way of. Two posts per week, one for each cup, is not worth whining about.

Besides, the publicity and amount of spectators is certainly what keeps these cups going, otherwise it just wouldn't be worth it to the sponsors of the 100 euro per week.

tldr: Stop whine; be grateful weekly competitions with top players exist at all.

Its not "major news" if its a weekly cup. The first few weeks, ok maybe but now its not needed.

Even if it's not technically "major news" it still needs to appear on front page because everyone want to see what's the most active thing happening now. "Major news" is used only because there is no other way to make it appear on front page (like something like "currently active" or "LIVE RIGHT NOW !!!!!!111" category etc).

I don't see any section on ESR called "Major News". If there was, maybe I would agree the weekly cups don't belong there. But since the section is called News or Latest News, I think its appropriate that they appear there. If I go to a sports website, game/tournament results are usually on the main page.

To me, all that stupid talking on stream is extremely annoying. If you wanna chat, go and talk in irc. Stream is for watching game, if you are fortunate enough to spec game on server, please respect stream viewers and shut the fuck up.
Unfortunately, admins don't seem to do anything about it :(
