Quake Live is now officially part of the Intel Extreme Masters Continental Championship Season. That means that there will be regional Quake Live Championships in at least Europe and North America for Quake Live. The tournament system for both regions is already announced, but it's still open if the the Quake Live tournaments will be completely online or will end together with World of Warcraft and Counter-Strike 1.6 in offline finals.

In both regions eight players get directly invite to the Continental Championship and the top two of four qualification cups will also go to each Continental Championship. The Continental Championship will be played in a system of four by four groups. The first player of each group advances directly to the Continental Finals, while the second one faces the third one of another group for a slot on the finals.

The official website says that the North American Championship qualification will start on September, 20th, so we can expect more details pretty soon.
