Following the most recent events taking place with the war in Ukraine. It was announced by Cypher that he was kicked out of the Quake Pro League on his twitter and Instagram story. It is currently unknown if Cooller or Base also got kicked out of the QPL as well (going to point towards as possibly yes) as well as now allowing any future pro player representing or residing in Russia.

StarCraft commentator and pro Geoff "iNcontroL" Robinson has died at the age of 33.
Robinson was a StarCraft pro and one of the first players allowed to play StarCraft 2 during its pre-beta period. He captained the Evil Geniuses team and went on to become a popular caster, as well as a streamer of everything from Apex Legends to Warhammer 40,000.
The cause of death has not been revealed, but his social media accounts were updated over the weekend with this confirmation: "With immense grief, we announce Geoff’s unexpected passing due to sudden illness Saturday. We ask privacy as his family works to understand what happened and make arrangements. To honor Geoff or offer comfort to his family, we suggest donations to @SoCalBulldog, which he loved."

Little less than unexpected news today regarding the current competitive TF2 scene, ESEA will drop it's support after Season 31 later this year. Now they have been running leagues for a while now and it's no surprise that people are getting tired of Team Fortress 2 now these days. I imagine once this final season's league is over other leagues and organizers (that still support tf2) might continue to run events still or might drop it entirely.
Will some of these teams and players that played TF2 find another game to compete in? or will they just retire from competition or just play tf2 for fun?

Bethesda Softworks is teaming up with independent British publisher Titan Comics to create a new series of comics based on the upcoming Quake Champions FPS. Titan said the books, slated to debut later this summer, "will delve into the bloody backgrounds of the Champions of Quake: Ranger, Visor, Nyx, and more," with art by Titan and IDW veteran artist Alan Quah.
"I am super excited to dive into the Quake franchise!" Quah said. "Exciting characters with crazy elaborate techs and environments that I will love drawing—I couldn't have wished for more!"

I recently came back from watching the new Star Wars movie, it was a great movie and all of that but i'm not gonna spoil it. I will tell anybody that has seen the movie here. There's an easter egg, A symbol that's reminiscent of the Quake 2 logo can be seen in the movie, find it and look at it closely.
May not be an easter egg but it is something worth noting.

Was bored looking up on HLTV.org's website at work and i ended up reading this off topic post called "I finally got rid of her" so funny.
About 10 years ago, my first serious girlfriend and I broke up because she was abusive, and I've seen her at least a few times a year since then. For a few years in college she stalked me.
I recently saw her on campus. She gave me a dead-eyed, emotionless stare, and began walking towards me. Normally, I would ignore her or high-tail it out of there, but instead, I pulled out my phone and began speaking in rapid French, pretending to take a call. She doesn't speak French, and looked startled.
Then, I looked directly at her and made a throat-slitting motion. She was the one who ran this time, and I felt like, maybe, I've finally won.
After 10 years of terror, I finally stood up to the girl who has been stalking me for almost half my life.

QuakeCon 2015 will be held from July 23 to 26, 2015 in Dallas, Texas at the Hilton Anatole.
2015 will be the 20th Year Id Software has ever hosted QuakeCon. BYOC and Tournaments will be announced at a later date. For more info about the event check the quakecon website.

As part of what's been going on with the production of Star Wars Episode 7 (for instance, showing off the new X-Wing design, hinting new cast members, new Han Solo costume, etc.) they released the new Stormtroopers hemlet with a very modern look.

On Thursday July 31st Gameworks is going to be opening in the Town Square Las Vegas Outdoor mall area. It's Basically is going to be more of an Arcade center with an eSports center. The esports center is what im going to be looking forward too considering i have the day off on thursday and its right near where i work. idk if Quake Live is going to be one of those games added on there but i can ask anyway.

According to sources (and Jehar) Fadecon starts tommorow and is going to have QL Standalone along with Id Software as well on sight. That also means LAN servers will be activated as well, along with other games that are being played. But this should of been announced on ESR while planning comes along. but anyways HF to anybody who is attending! Now about those QuakeCon dates!

I hope on a Retribution one night and all of a sudden there was a rendering bug once the map was being loaded I don't know. At least on standalone QL update it seems to do that once the map finishes loading but I've never get that before. It looks like Das Ulbe to me with all of those Mynx's on the walls, even replacing the textures for the skulls on the stick :D

This is what i've been wanting to do for a while, since QLCTF in NA is pretty much dead. I wanted to gather a few bunch of people and have like a nightly CTF night, similar to what mellow did when the #NATDM.QL channel was made. A lot of the CTF Pickup games were done @ #qlpickup.us but after QuakeCon was over the channel pretty much died off. Now i'm pretty much going to be make this accouncment/post Because I want to play some Damn 4v4 ctf games and not ca. and the amount of pubbies that play a 4v4 ctf game always ends in a "Hey let's callvote shuffle, callvote a Team Arena Map or callvote 5v5, Because I'm special. that's what throws people off and I can't stand it.
Now I want to do some nightly ctf games, with anybody who is interested, only thing I have a busy schedule ahead of me so I'm limited to how many pugs I can play now. Mainly Competitive CTF maps that are played from the #qlpickups.us channel or nolist games are the ones that will be played (Ironworks, q3wcp1, q3wcp9, q3ctf2, etc.)
It should also worth noting I want to play in servers like TX or IL just to get people from both West and East together and not end in some formal ping drama. and I was one who moved form NY to Nevada recently. It's unknown that this kind of thing will happen since ctf is dead and not a lot of people will care, but whatever works out is fine with me. Not every day I will get the chance to play Quake CTF, now that i'm with a busy schedule

Here's the story, I jump in to an FFA game, somebody who was in the lead was calling hacks on this particular player, Had to spec and watch out of laughter. long story short, let's say he's one of those people who thinks he's good but plays shitty even on pub-stomping ffa servers. May not be as funny as another one but it's worth a watch, Song by the way is Always from Erasure

This is being made by Frictional, the same guys who made Amnesia. it's being aimed as a sci fi horror game, think of it like its System Shock and movies like Alien. they released a few live action videos to give it a feels of what it's going to be like

Since Duel and TDM have been confirmed by 2GD on the last GDShow, i wonder what other game modes will there be for the new game. I'm hoping FFA and CTF makes it for the new title and then maybe some new original gamemodes for Reborn.
