its a gameplay mod. cry over your bullshit instagib and q4max, militia is alot more massive and hardcore then all your mods

and dont forget most of militia sdk source is recoded and changed with all non engines glitches in gameplay removed, along with hitscans, which remove all hitscan nags, and new physics in some parts of base physics etc

you still can run a dedicated server, you just have to give out the ip, like all other quake games, with all the master down and dead

the same reason im banned from doom3world. they`re all carmack groupies, you cant test code in a untextureed map. you have to wait 30mins to a whole complete finished map to load, they`re all full of shit and never release nothing. who suck on the tits of that ketbits, who`s maps are also shit

if you want q3 models/md3 get this lightwave 7.0 compatible plugin http://www.troggpond.com/lwtools/index.html
and just load and export, its all the same scale, you just have to skin and do the anims if you want all the player models,, copy a skeleton from q4 mesh, and keep as a template,

plugins work in lightwave 9.0

uploaded a untextured picture of terraint with a big storm fx, and snow particles...

if you want to port q3 maps, get gtkradiant : http://www.qeradiant.com/cgi-bin/trac.cgi for q3map2.exe and a better editor in general. no build command menu for q4

use the q3map2.exe command at the bottom of http://en.wikibooks.org/wiki/Q3Map2 to convert bsp to map

if you use q4game editor, and get alot of leaks, open up the editor.cfg in the base dir, of game or mod and add :

sett bsp_menuitem1 "bsp noflood"
sett bsp_menuitem2 "bsp noflood -noaas"

to build maps

all they do is get excited over rendered images, no one on the place will every release nothing, theres just bozo with the lwo2m5 tool, unless clinton posts on it regular with his lightwave md5 plugin

and no one will ever upload a vid of something they`ve done, they just talk and get all excited over a rendered picture, that never usually looks that good, just like the whole idtech4 engine, all textures are blurry, you have to set the renderimagesize to 3x and fix all the fix, for all the texture detail to remain ingame

and then they are still blurry, but just not as much

sdk/renderer/RenderSystem.h //size of each rendered game frame image size, and stretchd to actual monitor display size

you dont think have the same arms for all models is kind of cheap and pathetic, even if your not running around as a marine or tactical elite, your in view arms on screen are still 1 or the other, not matching what everyone else sees in the world models

download militia, it has everything, and i the coder of it all. so i can reply to all the posts, dont have a team, militia is just my own, 99% yes code, and recode of the sdk, not a external function in directx or opengl being called, and used, not a model,

recode all the bugs and glitches in the original, all current glitches are militias own, and dont affect the standard quake action

and dont forget it takes a massive shit on q4max, you already can have specific arm model in the uploaded 1.1.15 beta. the models just dont have model meshes for each player model,

the code is already active, i dont care much for modelling, and im cant be assed to start skinning, so someone else can do it,

and could always do a double barrel shotgun and a better machinegun, before miliita takes over the world and 100s of custom mp player models are made, each weapon has arm model, the weapons arnt attached to the arms, arms and weapons are the inview .md5mesh/anims

It's good. Your movies gave me inspiration to start a Q4 movie of my own. I like to think I'm easily in the top 20 of Quake 4 currently, and with a little bit more practice and possibly a time machine, I will be attending LANs soon to compete with the top.

Here's a mini clip of me playing against one of the best players currently in the scene. It showcases my fragging skill as well as my incredible movement and positioning. It's not a finished movie (I'm thinking of maybe putting The Jonas Brothers or Hannah Montana over the top of it), but please view and rate.

1.4.2 and 1.3 feels more like aimbased versions where the little slower once like 1.0 is more brainbased and my strongest side is brain.

As i said earlier, I know that i would lose to a pro if it only was aimbased but i think that im quite the smart player so i can do suprise attacks and if i keep the game in pace i would probably give players like toxic a good and close game.

I have to say though, I did try Q4 this morning briefly on some FFA server and it was quite fun. Movement was better then I remember it being but the hit reg just feels shite and everything feels fat and bloated compared to Q3. Feels like you're floating around maps and the sounds are horrible (no definable jumping sounds = fail).

Though of the people that are playing it, they all seem to be horrendous. I don't think I died once and controlled both yellows of DM6 and the quad the whole map... With a ping of 100~ (seemed like only far away servers were full of people that weren't bots)

Well the overall skill on most Q4 FFA's is as low as on every other game, so don't expect too much of it.

However i would recommend you to try q4max, it definately helps to fix the "floaty" "unprecise" feeling you get. I can't stand the q4base netcode myself.

What do you mean with definable jumping sounds? You mean like having more different and most importantly more distinct ones?

most who get bord of quake wars and want some ctf no doubt, have been cannons in maps, which are just vehicle/turrets with no hoverpads/wheels etc, team fortress special, not for all you who are shit and have to play duels, with brighness up full

map some assault maps, add the game type with 10 lines of code, all the triggers are already done

pr reactor gametype maps, if i every bother gettings the physics to work on listen and dedicated servers, and have UT onslaught with no megatextures

modellers should model more vehicles to use. along with custom mp player models

you know if after the beginning of the match, you playing against toxjq, the first 3 minutes the score goes something like 20 to -2 in favour of toxjq, after a while you might hear some strange sounds and choral music, God knows why:

best prove you don't know who you are dealing with is when you say you can beat pro players because they have superior aim only, when in fact pro players are best at timing and strategy, aiming is aditionally coming from hard training and positioning, and it is mostly resulting the loser losing his concentration and giving the pro players easy frags. especially this thing (solid timing, pro player's biggest atu) gets into your blood after years and years of playing

there are two possible scenarios:
-they will outaim and thus rape you (I'd say abt 5% possibility)
-they will outsmart you and then outaim you and then you'll be raped (95% possibility)
unless you are not yourself a known pro player who wanna troll and make pro players play some q4 again

Hmm. I dont think so i have played alot of players in q4 that says they used to play close games with pros and i beat some of them. You just thinks way to highly of them i think.

I know i dont have as good aim as them but i know how to play kinda sneaky so i can suprise them so they will lose control over armors and i will be in control and get some frags.

Download a cooller vs Tox or any other good pro demos. Watch 1 or 2 of them. Then go directly to watching one of your demos on the same map.

If you honestly still think your close to their skill after that, then your obviously not pro enough. Even then, it doesnt take a pro to understand who is good or not. This is why no one here is impressed, and if you actually watched your own vids, You'd agree.

Actually all the really good players left the Q4 competitive scene in 2008 at the latest. You rarely found good players on public servers and if you saw them there they were raping the shit out of the other guys. Skill level is so low that if I drop by the ctf pickup I usually get picked top 3 and I suck now compared to the skill level I used to be at in Q4.

IMO, 1.4.2 is better than 1.3.

However I know that noctis in particular dislikes the increased speed of 1.4.2, and possibly the hitbox.

1.4.2 has octagonal hitboxes, and the new "power slide" which makes sliding faster (this was originally introduced as part of a rewrite of the slidemove code to work correctly with non-cuboid hitboxes, but it has the effect of speeding up sliding)

1.4.2 also has Q4TV, > 60fps, and q4max with superhud (+25% fps) and net_unsmoothclients (think xerp from cpma).

The higher ramp jumps in 1.4.2 breaks the flow of a lot of maps and the LG was ruined. They should have kept the 1.3 ramp jumps and given the LG larger hit detection footprint instead increasing damage output per second and knockback.

slide move just adds some friction, there is not actual slidemove code, its just ground frictions

lightninggun is tracepoint, (collision.c.materialType/entity ), you can pass it into tracebounds and .expand to mins maxs/ or any float value.

I didn't mean "crouch slide", I meant idPhysics_Player::SlideMove.

This code deals with the case of you sliding along walls / slopes etc. Because of the change of shape of the hitbox, there were some side effects in how the velocities got clipped. The code was rewritten to be more generic so that it didn't assume AABB, but that rewrite has the side effectssome people don't like. The pm_powerslide cvar can at least tweak the behaviour though .

You might have known about this detail if you hadn't been in denial about how 1.0 was the only SDK release you ever needed, and had instead followed the patch development, and even got involved in helping out and testing it - but I guess your attitude would have stopped you getting invited into private betas.

there is no real reason to upgrade. most of the bugs and glitches are in the sdk. militia has most of the sdk recoded or changed, and still in 1.4.2, its even more so,

sdk has some virtual bool and functions that go into the engine, and just make life crap for modders, nothing major.

most people still play 1.0 for a reason. and its not some early version of militia

Sure there is - autodownload is the instantly obvious one. Without it, almost nobody can join a server that has any custom content at all.

The majority of people playing 1.0 are either:
- people who haven't realised there is a newer release

1.4.2 nocd doesnt check for auth keys. even if the install patch exe is a nocd, no1 uses auto download, quake players are to square unlike UT, and cant set it up,

you just have to enable 1 cvar to download off the server when connecting like UT games, with no messing around

all servers are the same, theres nothing to download, unless you have a future militia server and custom damage sets, mp player models, vehicles etc,...

I'm quite happy to paste the results of the grep if you like, but since it contains your guid (which people can use to find you on servers) I'm not sure you really want that...

Two other likely causes of it:
- you're both using the same warezed copy of Q4 (since it derives from cd key)
- Q4 has a bug of showing players with the guid of another player / someone who was on the server before them or sth. I cannot believe Q4 has any bugs though, so it cannot be that.....

1) uploading videos of yourself playing nonamers
2) ...on a map that never featured in a serious tournament
3) ...aswell as never have won anything even remotely competitive
4) try to back up all the smacktalk in an online tournament

Sorry man but i think you are so wrong there. FY 1v1 is a perfect map for people like me, I like to think of myself as a Brainplayer and FY 1v1 is a map where you need more Fighting skill then braingame so its a perfect map for me to improve my worse aspect of my game.

I dont like people who are being modest, If you know that you are one of the best players just fucking say it instead of being all like "Oh i dont know maybe im like middle skilled " when you actually are a top player.
