Sovereign country? Tibet? When?

Tibet is part of China for almost 300 years now, except for a short period of time in the 20th century when civil war was all over China.

Parts of Poland have belonged to Russia and Germany for long times in the past centuries.
Czech Republic and Slowakia were on country once.
Several European countries belonged to Austria - Hungary.
Jugoslawia was split up.
India and many other colonies belonged to England.
Eastern European countries and Baltic States belonged to Russia.
Even Hong Kong and Macao have been given back.
The list goes on forever.

Usually in Europe we have arrived at this peculiar solution now, where we ask people from that region what they want, not some political leader thousands of kilometers away.

And whenever the Tibetans protest Journalists blocked from forming a sound opinion or get send away.

invading? what? i see no reason to go back 600 or so years because then we'd have disputes with most countries in the world. when were they sovereign? if i go to scotland and proclaim that they are now independent of the rest of the uk but the uk gov nor any other country recognises this independence does it make still mean we have independence?

the only arguable recent time where you can proclaim some kind of independence is pre-ww2 but at that point most of chinese provinces were independently ruled by waring factions...if u look back in most countries youll find a point in which it fell into chaos.

communist thing was a reply to the post above :x thought it was the same. they have a 'one party system' where they have local elections for positions of no significant importance while the main positions in each area are controlled by people, most of which are corrupt in some manner. people caught in large scandals are sacked but then rehired in a similar role in a different province a few months later. but still we (uk) can hardly criticise given that we've had corruptions coming out for a few months now and we cant even vote them out because all the major parties (and probably the smaller too its just they dont get the investigations/coverage) are pretty much equal in levels of corruption

the point is that you really have two sides in the conflict, and apparantly you believe the Chinese government while I prefer to chose the exiled Tibetan Government. And that is namely the Dalai Lama. Sure they get supported by actors, while that is really meaningful as such, I don't see how it can be an argument against their cause.
I personally go from this view: What do i think the Tibetan people would want...
