
possible things to update:
-linux based port
-google chrome ui removal for faster fps/less crashes
-open source based approach for easier community based maintenance (not sure how it might work but needs some kind of long-term low cost support)
-needs to run fast and no crashes on low end hardware
-up to date engine fixes for performance/security
-should not break or force people to upgrade to things that no one needs, ie stuff like integrated web interfaces and other prone to crash systems needs to be removed/replaced with low cost, low maintenance binary level stuff like the original ioquake3 approach with no headaches for the end user.
