Also easy to find FFA games. Maybe I'm lucky with decent ping in Sweden to both EU servers and Russian servers.

Total amount of players is slowly going down but still enough.
670 peak at the moment and 344,5 average.

It's still the best arena fps.

I play mainly CA and TDM.

TDM pickup still runs one or two games every 50 hours, which is nice, and there's HoQ, a laid back league with fossils using keyboards & stuff.


CA is easy to find games in EU, here are a few advices if you wish to get into this mess of a mode:

- you'll wait for heroes to finish losing their 1v3, have a good book on the side
- you'll get flamed by some "competitive high level CA player" most of the time, you can ignore players, super useful
- elo is the new meta, elo is king, elo is life
- you can play it drunk, just go to a place and shooty shoot the green dudes

TDM scene in qw is much more active.
Its often many 4on4 games every day. And loads of 2on2 games.
Could also argue about it beeing a better arena fps than ql atm.

Just join server and wait for a bit, im sure someone will join, qlstats.net used to be useful for stalking players of similar elo, now its a bit harder since most of the ppl are anonymous. Still woth having the qlstats page open tho when you want to find duels.

Yeah if you don't mind afk'ing for an hour to find a decent duel then go for it. :-)

You're well advised to find a permament partner of similar skill level who's also just starting out. Then you basically got same-skill duels ad infinitum, and someone with whom you can discuss strategy and also other things. Ask in Discords/IRC channels.

Lots of people left. As was the case with loladouts update when lots of people left. And update before when lots of people left. And another update....

The devs alienated, like, 99% of oldschool base with all the bullshit they did because they wanted to invite noobs into the game but failed to do proper anticheat, wink wink. It's kind of like when you design and build a Ferrari and after short period of use the factory decides that they have to change said Ferrari because people who use it and the ones who potentially want to buy it can't drive and keep complaining.

So instead of making them learn how to drive the Ferrari they gradually rebuild it into some sort of a frankenstein Yugo and wonder where the Ferrari crowd went once it's done.

Aaand to drive this analogy even further, if Ferrari decided to turn Ferrari LaFerrari into Yugo or Lada, older users would just shrug, sell it or decide not to buy it at all, and get back to say, Ferrari F40. Which was a bit cruder but had extreme performance. It's called basics of doing business, something the happy clown posse of QL devs forgot. Maybe they didn't have a clue in the first place.

So now all we have left are either people who won't quit no matter what, or seekers of curiosity who install this game, get slammed and uninstall it.

IMHO it will stay that way. Long gone are the days of high performance arena FPS so QL will be a curious dinosaur F40 in world of Priuses and LaFerraris.
