right from the spacebar there's ALT and FN..
I don't usually use media keys but a quick calc/firefox pop might be useful.

i've got a keycool 87 (which i believe is the same board without the ugly branding), also from qtan and it works wonders
the only downside is the cheapish feeling keycaps, other than that it's a really nice board for the money

Keycool and HPE are quite similar, I was going to get a keycool first but decided to give HPE a try anyway.

The caps could have been better, I'm thinking of getting PBT caps if the current ones will start feeling wank.

PBT caps are overrated to me, the difference in feel isn't much over other types. Although the stock caps on the HPE/Keycool etc are really bad.

Basically PBT caps will likely feel better, but you can usually get quality ABS ones for cheaper that will also feel better than the stock ones.

Keycool, HPE, that other one, they're a bunch of Korean (etc) rebrands of almost identical keyboards. Very durable in quality but not always of the highest standard, although very nicely priced. Bottoming out feel on these vs a CM QFR rapid, the Rapid wins hands down. Quality, cushioned feel, whereas a Keycool was louder and blunter.

Then again the Keycool is £20 less shipped, although you don't have to import it.

Filco etc isn't much better than the Rapid. Same OEM.

QFR bottoming out is more pleasant yes, I was going for either QFR, KBT race or this one/keycool.

QFR price was a bit of out of reach at this point, and KBT race looks reaaaally nice but the key layout is disastrous.

Decided against it as I use the home/end/del/insert keys very often without looking, and frankly can't be bothered with a new layout. Also finding replacement caps is a mission.

And Das! Utter quality board imo, people go on about Filco and all that, but Das boards have a special place in my heart. Don't know what it is but the same switch feels so much better on a Das than on any other board for some reason :)

For putting on a show -> yeah that Ducky.. Utterly pointless but you can't get a better fingergasmic lightshow anywhere. Some of the coolest shiz I ever saw
