Wow, 6 teams.

So even with 6 teams 3 of them being American they might not make top 3.

iC vs monsters for 1st
ufx vs ballers for 3rd
noname vs easted for 5th

groups are going to be made so that the final must be usa vs europe.

if not, top3 will certainly consist of european teams only.

whats scrim

scrim is the north American term for what Europeans call "pcw" or practice clan war, where two skilled group of players arrange a practice match up.

Indeed, ballersss have a pretty strong lineup there..
I wouldn't count out ufx either, i think they did pretty damn well in DH considering TDM scene is virtually non existent in the states.
I hope they practiced for this tourney.. not sure with who tho :)

basing on what linkin[not sure] said about ufx, they lack the aim to compete against euro teams... no matter how good ur strat is, it not gonna work if u can backup it with aim

Looking at the DH stats, their acc was pretty even with all teams there.
In fact they even lost to teams they outaimed.

acc is not a way to measure aim... actually u will have higher accs when being raped, cause u will shoot less bullets

Rofl their aim is not good enough? Their aim is more than good enough.....The only player i'd MAYBE say that about is czm. kid has no idea what he's talking about. If they played 1/2 as much TDM as any of those teams they would have easily placed top 3.

They can't even go up to 8 teams :D. Next time try to announce the tourney details the day before qcon, so the dev team can play and win.

What happened to winz? He played phenomenal at dreamhack. I get that they probably wanted to team with fox but considering he's definitely not as practiced up lately as winz, and just had a kid, he's probably not going to be contributing as much as winz. Their call though. I'm sure the fans all wanted to see fox back too, but still. Winz I feel is the safer option if you want to win the tournament.

That said, I'm rooting for salivating monstahs. :)

I hope ufx will do good. And I expect them to 2nd or 3rd. They've been practising quite a lot for this qcon.

But then again it's not easy to find high skilled tdm teams in NA.

Hopefully groups or brackets or whatever are set up so we can all enjoy a faptastic grand final between ic and monstahz.

I liked "Two team invitations remain available for talented teams of professionals to gain entry", seeing as how at least half the teams are just high-skilled duelers thrown together in TDM. Still, there should be interesting games ahead.

I like how they call it "invitees", when in reality these are simply the only teams that applied.

Well, there's only that one team on the pending list with 4 players, so they invited 6 out of 7 complete teams that registered. ;D

tdm in a nutshell

the definition of invites: take whoever are available.

if they announced it months ago, they would have had 8 topteams, and these 8 topteams would save quake live from dying..
now there will be 4 teams raping, so only semi and final would be nice. Groupstage will be just like UGC in Italy (no offense), where pros raped random italians in groupstage.. at least they had a lot of players in UGC..

outsiders will think these are the best 6 (8) teams in the world, we know better..

they should have qualifiers an half year before the tourney, would be so nice with winner of each qualifier getting tickets to qcon !
i mean, its hard to get sponsors, but quakecon is so huge.. its known by every other game players, and there will be a lot of viewers/visitors for sure.. topteams sponsors will see why they have a quake team.

yeah the prize money is enough that they could have taken part of it pay the trip of teams that qualified
would have created some nice online action and a better tournament at the same time
