The CyAC QuakeLive Duel Cup #1 signups have closed. Many top asian stars have signed up for the tournament. Some of the players to keep an eye out for that have performed well in previous QuakeLive Duel Cups are:

SERVAL
Fumio
MUSTAINE
Bsan
Fenda

Some other noticeable signups who could cause an upset are:

blackbear_kr
fakeQQQ

The entire cup will be broadcasted with play-by-play commentary provided by hanatyan of Himitsukichi Games and BRZRK of Ukeru.jp. They will be joined by guest casters in the names of uNleashed and toriyama.

I've asked some China players before this tournament, sadly they have ping & packet loss issues on Japanese server which is unplayable on that time.

i thought they had quite good internets in asia, or are some of the chinese players from the western region (ie crazy distance away from the .jp servers?)

also geologically speaking shouldnt the tourney be pld on a south korean server? :>

Korea servers were gone couple of days ago, not sure what happened to them.

I wouldn't call 90 ping in qlive acceptable. Especially not if you want to play duel against someone who knows what he is doing.

I think 70 or 75 is the magic number where the netcode switches off some unlagged features and you have to start leading your shots BASEQ3 style.

when you graduate from university/school and look for a job or want to change your place of employment, it's usually done around this time of the year. you basically get suited-up and go to lots of companies for interviews, there's not much time to anything other than that during that period of the year.

most people graduate in march, and as not having a job/money in japan can pretty much equal homelessness, they all try to find a job right after. trains are full of young people in new suits and dresses going to their interviews and aptitude tests :D
