Yep, it's odd how easy it was to ignore in the past but now it grates my nerves making a lot of things unwatchable. I wish they'd remaster some of the classics like Black Adder to remove the canned laughter.

Seasons 1 to 3 are good.

S1-2-3-4 are all amazing.

S3 is a bit slow in the middle but still awesome.

no bigbang is getting a bit repeatative these days, especially the meteor shower watching episode was clearly a visible case scriptwriters was suffering from writers block, I think they have almost explored all possible nerd relation with girl, doing typical nerdy things etc cases, and its hard to generate new content, on the other hand dexter is still going strong, in fact season 4 is better than 3.

I like how they've evolved his life situation so they can "discuss" different things throughout the series each season and it's all fairly subtle and seems natural.

They should read esr for ideas.

even though i also love that show.. i disagree.. script is usually kinda mediocre and tunney is annoying at times .. simon baker, however, is excellent and brings the show to another level.. castle is similiar case, fillion is just awesome as always and as a bonus instead of annoying tunney you got lovely stana :P

The Mentalist is fun to watch but nowhere near Dexter :)

First 2 seasons were Epic. Season 3 was fun too. Season4 too much family shit, still watching it though

I like The Mentalist as well. I wouldn't say it's amazingly good, but it's always very entertaining in it's own right. Something I can't say about most other shows.

Season 4 started out sub-par, got sortof ok and failed horribly when dexter failed to finish off trinity with the shovel.

after season 2, the story got more and more unbelievable.

Him getting a best friend, mutual interests, then the guy goes crazy, sniper on roof omg...thats where i switched off.

how many bullshit do the writers think they can make people swallow?

the show died with seargent doakes, or whatever the black guy's name was.

what stayed was a strange main character who is getting away with anything and has a sister who does nothing but swear all day, and fuck around with witnesses/serialkillers and i stopped watching befor figuring out who she was going end up screwing in season 3 (but i bet it was a real shocker).

Same with Scrubs, how can people believe that stuff? And Third Rock from the Sun... Aliens? Come on!

Dexter is great and I do enjoy it but it's same old, same old. If you want something new and different check out Breaking Bad.

Breaking bad is too, honestly I think they're on a par.

The only formulaic thing about Dexter is how each season is a self contained story. Which is an extremely good thing.

Breaking bad will fail. It is awesome but I don't think they will be able to draw it out too much longer without it losing appeal.

To try and state that BB is more original than Dexter, when that show itself is the second (probably not, but I'm not aware of others) to spin the suburbanite turns drug dealer premise.

It may share some of the premise as Weeds but it's so much darker in tone.

Breaking Bad, Dexter, Sons Of Anarchy, Lost and Mad Men are the best dramas on tv right now.
