We all saw it coming though, a very defensive match, but to be honest I think it was still exciting, at least in the end.

Wasn't for me - the only good part was the end of the 1st half when Chelsea lost a goal and finally started to play something. 2nd half and the rest was horrible. Too bad Szewczenko and Dudek didn't play - that would make penalties more interesting.
All in all seems that ManU - Milan is a "true final". Let's just hope Milan will beat MU tommorrow so they will have an opportunity to take a revange for 2005. Liverpool deserve some serious spanking for what they played today :)

Very nice win for Liverpool. I wasnt impressed at all by Cech in the penalties. Reina was obviously much better at it, being much faster and doesnt reveal which side he will dive to (which Cech did several times)

Defence is not a reason, playing home they lost two goals, but shot three, in Milan they lost three goals but scored null - blame Ronaldo, Rooney, Giggs, Carrick, Saha for that. And 4-5-1 was actually a good idea, but even that couldn't prevent Milan from gaining a total dominance in the middlefield - no surprise if you have such players like Seedorf, Gattuso, Pirlo and Ambrosini.
In Serie A Milan sucked in autumn, but they are the best team in spring part of the season - but how much difference does it make anyway? Yesterday they beat the best team of premiership 3 to 0.

having half the defence out (neville & rio) is a big deal. Vidic was rushed back from injury, and evra was suspended. A fit, first choice defence would not have conceded 5 goals over 2 legs. Also Carvalho is a mediocre player that is found out when he doesn't have Essien and Makalele protecting him.
