i know this is just a demonstration, but no one plays with ping over 80-100. and you moved the block slower when you switched to equal pings. maybe make a demonstration where the players pings are not linked? and tell me if im wrong but you should make the shooting indicator update same rate as snaps.

I'm tired of hearing about complaints about ping on here and on the ql forums.

we all agree ping can be a factor in determining ones overall skill in quakelive. Its common knowledge. lower ping has an advantage.

But it is not an issue as long as we have proper SKILL MATCHING to ensure more competitve matches!!!!

competitive matches and alt accounts are an all encomapassing more important and detrimental issue. When these two issues are addresssed it also address the two more MINOR issues of botting and ping.

There is NO way to handle alt accounts, without completely changing the entire model of the game. Free games are always going to have this problem, and the closest thing you can do to combat the negative effects is to have the game be popular enough to make it not matter to begin with - see LoL.

While switching to a pay model would get rid of most alt accounts, it still couldn't eliminate it entirely. I actually think that it would be a better idea, but if you're going to charge people, they're going to expect to receive a game on par with current standards, and QL doesn't meet them.

id already tried that, though - it was called Quake 4. Gamers didn't want it.

Few people would be willing to give out credit card information "just because", and you'd also be eliminating the vast majority of teens/kids who want to play.

Best part is how there is fuck all difference no matter what settings he selected. I expected something different to happen on my screen. Anyway the worst net code game I have ever played was GTA San Andreas. Some body made a multiplayer mod called SA-MP and made ping irrelevant. 30 or 300 ping you just lead aim 2 seconds ahead of the player and hope you guessed it right where he would be in the future.
