Because Quake Live has no servers near where I live, I haven't downloaded it yet (I get one gig of international bandwidth a month and I'm not using up half of that to watch demos and play with 300 ping), and I only watch the odd video of it, but I'm curious about the state of the game - how is it panning out? Is skill matching working now more or less? Is the netcode playable? How is the weapon balance working out? Are any of the new maps playable? What about the web interface, is it better or at least as useable as the Q3-style server browser interface (probably not)? what about duel detective, is it working? and how is the training&placement match now? What about the general feel of the game, is it more like VQ3 or CQ3? What about server activity, are there any new players or just the same players as Q3? I'm sure most of ESR will be in the higher tiers, but are there any noobs playing the game, and has QL managed to get some old OSP era players to return? I have high hopes for QL but the only barometers I have are the idiots on the QL forums and the whine threads on ESR.

I wish we could get some SA servers but it seems unlikely. Maybe after poland, russia, the other 40 US states, the UK, antarctica, ethiopia, south america and the moon we have a chance but no SA quakers are playing QL, for the same reasons I'm not so ID won't be seeing a demand :< you spoiled foreign bastards...
