Hi guys, I am looking to play a new dm game and need some recommendations.

What I am looking for is something that is active at a casual pub level, especially late at night around 1.00am gmt.

ATM I play hl2dm, css and tf2.

I am currently looking at ut3 or painkiller ovedose. How active are these games?

My pc specs are a amd single core 3800 2.4ghz, 1gb ram and a 7600gt

I would like a game with strafejumping/bunnyhop but I don't mind if it doesn't. I used to like previous UT games like unreal 1 and ut99.

I dont mind trying some older games, aslong as they are active at casual pub level and fairly accessible. I dont mind there being a learning curve but dont want anything too extreme.

Anything Unreal Tournament = fail, I would say Quake 4, but I dont think you could play it in the proper settings to fully enjoy the game, you can try it though, game only costs like $14.99. Or you could probally go to Quake 3 Arena with the cpma mod. Classic game and alot of people still play it.

yes he can. i have 6600gt and 300 mhz worse processor and duels run smoooooooooooooooth fps without any drops and ctf has rarely any drops.

I tried some quake world. That game is insanely hard. I couldn't even see where I was getting shot and most of the time it was instant deaths but the game was fun.

I think ill check out cpma next or the regular quake 3 since I already have them. Last time I tried to play quake 3 I couldn't find a regular dm game. The server browser shows all these different mods and I couldn't find a normal dm with a regular ping.

I tried one of the earlier versions of warsow, it's a nice game

don't use ingame serverbrowser, instead use:

If you liked UT1 gameplay, then you'll like UT3 gameplay also.

It's a tad buggy, needs a bit patching, but give it a go anyway =)

the guy is asking for game that is active at a casual pub-level late at night and i dont think anyone has actually mentioned a game that has this yet. this isnt list games i like and hope more people will play them thread.

if you want to be able to actually just jump into a public game late at night your only real chance is ut2k4. any other dm game and you will have to put alot more effort on or play during peak hours to find those sorts of games.
