The point of insurance is that you don't pay in a 1:1 ratio, because that would defeat the purpose. So it's safe to say he paid much less than £350 000 but can potentially get that much if something really horrible happens to his hands. I doubt a broken finger would give him that much money, compared to for example losing both hands if a giant safe dropped on them.

Not much. Imagine how many people have something horrible happen to their hands. I'm no expert on insurance but I'm sure he is only paying a few percent on what his hands are insured for. This is more of a publicity stunt than an investment for the future.

I had a friend who had a giant safe dropped on his hands. Unfortunately, he didn't have hand insurance. It was such a tragedy. Ironically enough, his dentist had recommended hand insurance that morning at his checkup. He (my friend) now spends his days watching Spongebob Squarepants and juggling acorns with his feet.

This isn't a real sport, rookies don't play the same game for 25 years to improve. If you aren't good (big prize good) at an almost competitively dead 2/3 year old game now then you aren't going to get any better.

If you mean games in general, how many gamers really transfer to different games and play at the highest level, not to mention playing one game for 2/3 years 'hardcore' is enough for most people, they grow out of it.

and maybe look the guy up, i played in the same clan as the guy and watched his progress to some degree in his more recent pursuits.

He is hot - and getting better, I say it IS a real sport - a sport of the mind and hand/eye co-ordination.

I'm sure he will adapt to newer games also, as unlike the middle age 30+ gamer who may be tiring of/ too busy for gaming, he has more years to be enthusiastic about and progress in.

Funnily enough (and this is genuinely true) someone i knew at school was playing football one day and the crossbar fell of the goalposts and landed on his hands, nearly severing his fingers. He got 18,000 pounds from the council as compensation. So it goes to show that mysterious accidents do occur.....
