UTCOMP3 v4 beta1 for

UT3 has been released by faust. The new beta release is compatible with Patch 4 (2.0) which was released yesterday.

Changelog:
- utcomp scoreboards now compatible with ut3 v2.0
- fixed incorrect weapon visibility with weaponstay off.
- added compatibility with epic's clientside demorec.

Download

In addition to this UT3 is being offered free to download this weekend on

Steam, all you need is a Steam account to play the full version. Once downloaded, players will be able to play the full game with no restrictions until the end of the weekend when the game will lock again.

a game which failed on console because the joypad device instakills any fast paced fps on this platform

Nice. I'm actually having quite a bit of fun in greed/tdm/war/vctf. Not really a fan of the titan mutator, though.

Did the RL get tweaked? I've been popping people into the air and scoring air rockets left and right, and I don't remember it being like that at all before. Rocket jumps are a bit nicer, too.

rocket jumps are pointless in ut3 you take far too much self damage :p
we have hammer jump instead though.

i dont know if they tweaked the RL, it doesn't feel any different to me. but it is possible to knock players really far if you land them right :)
