Why not just reveal who the brilliant players who made up the seeds are? Whether it be bad intentions or just plain ineptitude, noone should be doing them a favor by keeping names hidden. Players in positions to determine potential outcomes of tournaments should be held accountable, not have their identity protected.

Couldn't agree more r4nger, but slasher brought up some really great points and hopefully seedings do get alot better in the next events the players responsible should be named though there really shouldn't be any secrecy in esports for people responsible they should live up to what they have done...great points tho slasher +1

Ok, you can go ahead and think this BUT the fact of the matter is that rufus and gellehsak shouldn't have played first round. You can flame me for this all you would like. But also, when your talking about only 3 people getting paid for an event and people are dishing out x amount of money, either in the us or even internationally that x amount is actually quite a bit. Sponsered or not..so why shouldn't the seeding be taken more into seriousness, along with the tournament itself. Lanwar wasnt NEARLY as bad for seedings as isc was at all, mainly because it was a smaller venue and it didn't have as many top tier players from the world. then again shouldn't they have taken the time to do seedings well before the tournament for a tournament of that size? Because seeding effect the outcome of a tournament, of course rufus and gellehsak given different seedings may have seen each other in the brackets eventually but we will never know.

Tough - just turning up doesn't mean a player deserves to win anything. If they where good enough they'd finish top 3, regardless of the seeding.

and if you happend to face the future tournament winner in your first SE game, and there's prizemoney for the top 3? would you consider going to the event ever again? i really dont think so.. since your seed won't improve just because you lost in your first game.. not even considering that it was the champion that knocked you out.. and you possibly could have ended 2nd if it werent for that lousy seed.. in theory..

You'd have a case of the unluckys but that's life. The whole point of competition is that you face the best - you could get knocked out by the champion at any time.

If you're good enough you'll win.

getting, lets say, a 5th place is damn good enough for some people.. and not getting that chance because you fell to best in the first round is just wrong :p

that is ofcourse if you were in the elite league of players from q3 (as in this case)

Props for making this and releasing it to us DURING the event. It's good to get the feedback from players on site during the even rather then reading about it 2 weeks after when, at least I, care less.

Totally agree with the 3 interviews... alot of players just are'nt motivated enough to compete when there are only prizes for top 3 and only a few events.

Solution: go back to playing video games for the pure enjoyment of the game, without huge prizes, playing the game you want, and being involved with the online community.
WSW would be a pretty good start, not just cos its a great game but its free (sticks 2 fingers up @ the "system" that's f***ed everyone over) and has a dev team that listens.

There were some really good points made in this video.

Bringing back the would tour would make gaming something that players could live off of, like last year with PK. Getting more prize moeny so that the prizes could be paid out to more places would make things alot better for the players too, It would give them more a of an insentive to play.

I think the CPL should try to center their tournies more on PC games since Console gaming has become more of a mainstream thing. Having a tournament where there are 3 console games and 2 PC games is not a good mix. I think they need to change it so that there are only 2( 1 1v1 game and 1 team game) games for each platform.

Changing the style of how the events are held would be a good thing too. Changing the focus from what it has moved toward, The BYOC and moving it more toward the tourny.

BYOC events should be the events held outside the tourny in order to get people to go to the main events.
