Can you tell us about yourself name, age, where you live, hobbies?
Who would you consider to be the best dueler?
Everyone has strong and weak points, what are yours and what makes yours the way it does?
What is cloudnine’s current lineup?
Viju: My name is VJ Patel, I'm 17 years old and I live in Attleboro, Massachusetts. My hobbies include gaming, currently Call of Duty, Quake III Arena, and Warcraft III, as well as playing tennis. What got you into gaming?
Viju: In 8th grade, I believe, my uncle gave me Quake II as a Christmas present. After beating that in single player, he later gave me the Quake III demo. I liked it from the beginning, and decided to buy it when it first came out. Later, I got a cable connection which got me addicted to playing games online.Do you prefer team games or duels?
Viju: I prefer team games a lot more. Whatever the game may be, WC3, COD, Q3, it's always more fun coordinating attacks and working out what you want to do with another person(s). Although sometimes one of you can screw up, it just gives reasons to make fun of them afterwards :) I also find it a lot more enjoyable to play games with people you know rather than alone... kind of like indulging in illegal activities.
Who would you consider to be the best dueler?
Viju: I'm not entirely sure right now; there are still a lot of big names playing. I think right now, however, czm has to be the best since other big names like zero4/daler/cooler are busy with other things at the moment (like poker--what all the cool kids are playing now.)What player do you admire most and why?
Viju: If this is limited to Quake III, I'm not entirely sure who I admire the most. There aren't really any big names still playing, and I haven't really been following any Q3 LANs or competitions lately. If it's just gaming in general, I'd have to say I admire cha0ticz the most right now. He recently just started a COD team (#team_clutch on gamesurge) with a lot of big Q3 names on the roster (including me). Our current roster is cl0ck/cha0ticz/daler/decka/jaguar/myself, and he's been taking a lot of time to teach us the game and showing us what's the ropes. What clan and player would you say was/is a challenge?
Viju: At Quakecon and QLAN2, there was a lot of competition, but I'm pretty sure that the clan that faced the biggest challenge was 519 (even though they had been playing CTF for only 2 months before QCON.) They had a lot of talent on their roster, and the fact that they stole pretty much all of cloud9's strats pre-QCON just added to devastation they brought. As for what player posed the biggest challenge--Paul "the dream" nelson (czm.) He was such a big challenge for us at QCON on 519 that we felt the need to steal him for going to QLAN with us.What previous clans have you been in?
Viju: When I originally started with Q3 CTF, I was never really big on clans. Sure I was on some small clans' rosters, but nothing to brag about. I took like a year break in between playing as well from when I started, and was on 56k when I returned. I played with cl0ck a lot while on 56k, which is the reason I played with cloud9 from the start. Then later on, I got cable connection (with a low ping, woohoo!) which is when we decided to go big with cloud9 (#cloudnine on ETG) and recruited some other members like Bane and Actionnewbs.Do you ever get bored of the q3 scene?
Viju: Yes, I'm pretty much bored with it right now as well. I haven't really been playing much since QLAN2 (mid April), and I've been keeping myself busy with real life and WC3. Just recently I took up playing COD, so that's been consuming my time as of late. Right now, the Q3 scene is pretty much dead, although I am looking forward to playing in the CCCP presents GATOR SMASH tournament, as well as in a Battlemod (unlagged Q3 basically) tournament if anybody actually decides to get that idea off the ground. Also, there's always Quakecon.
Everyone has strong and weak points, what are yours and what makes yours the way it does?
Viju: I'm not entirely sure. I'm sure my aim has a big role in my strengths, and the fact that I know what to do and how a lot of people will react to certain situations in CTF. Weaknesses, however... do I have those? Just kidding, I think one of my biggest faults is my impatience and the fact that I lose attention fast when I'm bored. Both those faults have been getting me killed in COD lots lately, so I'm working on'em.Will you be taking part in the Global Gaming League Tournament and attending Quakecon 2004?
Viju: For GGL, I plan on playing in both the Q3 CPM TDM tournament and the COD Search and Destroy tournament. For the Q3 CPM TDM tournament, I'm playing with Alliance of Pain (#cloudnine on ETG as well). We finished 1st in the recent OS CPM TDM tournament, and 2nd to team Abuse in Wansanity. Our roster for that will be myself/gellehsak/yrim/northman/lodikrad/actionnewbs/robnoly. For the COD tournament, I intend on playing with Team Clutch (myself/cha0ticz/cl0ck/daler/decka/jaguar).
As for Quakecon 2004, a big part of whether or not I plan on attending depends on what tournaments they announce. If they use Q3CTF again, I'm 100% sure that I'll attend. Also, if they use COD S&D this year, I'm sure that I'd attend as well. However, if neither of those game types is in use, the odds of me attending are pretty slim.
What is cloudnine’s current lineup?
Viju: Our main CTF lineup (or at least ideal lineup) would be myself/yrim/FFSmasher/cl0ck/Actionnewbs, with our allstar coach [EYE]esseff leading us to victory. For Ultra Freeze Tag however, our main lineup is myself/FFSmasher/yrim/esseff.Why do you think cloudnine is the champions?
Viju: We've all played for other teams at some point or another, and I think it's safe to say what sets us apart from most clans is our communication. We know how to react to one another and the opposing team simultaneously. We also manage to keep competitive games in our favor while having fun. What are your PC system specs?
Viju: system specs are:Is there anything else you would like to say?
(CPU) 1-AMD Athlon™ XP 1800+, 1532MHz, 256KB (5% Load)
(RAM) usage: 153/256MB (59.77%)

Viju: Major shout outs to the clans still competing, as well as the clans I'm currently in: cloud9, alliance of pain, track5, and team clutch.
