Intellimouse 3.0 negative acceleration? (14 comments)
Posted by Snooc @ 23:15 CDT, 11 August 2010 - iMsg
Hi guys, before I get it in my head that this is actually a problem, I'd like some feedback from some of you guys considering the IME 3.0. Basically, I play lots and lots of counter strike, and I've tried out seveal different mice during the past few years, and the IME 3.0 is the one that I really stuck with.

The "problem" goes like this: I think I'm getting some negative acceleration. When comparing with the WMO 1.1a, The 3.0 feels kinda' "unresponsive" and slow. I've always been kind of a low-sense player, so flickshots etc feels very hard to pull of these days.

Is there a possible hardware failure with the mouse, Or is this just how the mouse behaves in general?

For those who might be wondering, I use 6/11 and 2.0 In-game, I.e relatively high-sense.. I pretty much has to to be able to not experience the accel or the malfunction speed.

Any help on the subject would be great, since I'm considering to purchase a new one today.

Regards /Snooc

Edit: The mouse is overclocked to 500Hz

MS Wheel mouse optical 1.1 question. (23 comments)

Hi guys. A year ago my father took home a 1.1 randomly from work, saying they were going to throw them away. The mouse is really responsive and all, but it has this very strange problem which I don't know if i can explain..

It's really responsiv from left to right and vice versa, but if I drag it to the, lets say upper left, It just feels strange and un-responsive. Since it's been at their work for so long I've started to think that the mouse might be broken somehow. But before I purchase a new one, I'm simply wondering if this is how the mouse is suppose to react/feel.

It's like It got prediction on, which I know it doesn't. Any clarification would be appreciated.

On a side note, Is there any difference between http://www.maxfps.se/product_view.aspx?productid=210 and http://www.maxfps.se/product_view.aspx?productid=213 exept for the side-buttons?

Screen tearing.. (29 comments)

So, I got this really strange problem. When i cap my FPS to my Hz (120), I get awful screen tearing, but if i set it to 0 (unlimited), I don't, and everything runs smooth. So it's kind of the opposite effect right now.. Any ideas?

My monitor is a VX2268WM and my graphic card is a ATi 5850.

[FIXED]Do a 120Hz fix exist for Win XP.. (37 comments)

So in december i bought a kickass 120Hz LCD screen from viewsonic. I do love it, but of course it comes with a ton of problems..

After frequent searching over the last months i STILL have not found a solution to enable 120Hz on _non native_ resolutions when using an ATI card.

nVidia on the other hand can enable it by adding coustum resolutions in their drivers, ATI do not have an option similair to this.

To avoid questions, here's what i've tried:
Changing monitor EDID.
Adding a costum res using various programs (Powerstrip and programs similar.)
Changing driver .inf files

The stupid thing is: On windows 7, it works just fine. It amazes me that they wouldn't include this in their XP drivers.. I mean why not?

I know this has been talked to death, but googling for it won't get me anywhere, so asking here is kind of the last resort. Thanks for any reply's and sorry for the lack of engrish skills!

Fixed: With the latest 10.3 Drivers, you choose to Scale using your GPU.

Here's how: Check GPU scaling and choose "Maintain aspect ratio". Then change your Windows res (with the good ol' right-click properties method) and change from 1680x1050 to 800x600. You should now have 800x600 in windows with 120Hz. Now start up counter strike (source) with "-freq 120" in launch options. If it doesn't work right away, fiddle around with it by alt+tabbing in and out. Now you should have 800x600 @ 120Hz with blackbars.
