LF Mouse Similar to 3.0 and G400 (1 comment)
Posted by Underwhelmed @ 10:40 CDT, 4 May 2012 - iMsg
Used to play with an IME 3.0, picked up a G400 a few months ago. I've found that my shots tend to come out a little later than they should with the 3.0 and a little earlier than they should with the G400. I'm going to attribute this to the difference in shape between the two mice, probably the height of the hump and the angle at which the buttons are at. That said, does anybody know of a mice with a similar shape that also hopefully straddles an intermediate between the two? How do the Zowies compare?

I know the Deathadder is similar to the 3.0; I had one, but didn't really notice much of a difference going from the DA to 3.0. Recently got access to a WMO that I plan to try soon. Tried an IMO 1.1a before, but that cramped up my hand and was slippery.

Monitor Position (11 comments)

Just wondering what position everybody sets their monitor at, and how they decided on that distance. I've looked at various ergonomic guides, but they all seem to give conflicting advice and are really meant for old 18 inch CRT screens. I'm especially interested in what the top competitive players do.

I've got a 22 inch widescreen LCD (Although I play on 1400x1050); right now it's sitting at 36 inches or so. Moving it a bit closer seems to make tracking easier, but means I've got a wider angle my eyes need to cover.

Mouse Sensitivities Across FPS Genres (49 comments)
Posted by Underwhelmed @ 21:56 CST, 7 March 2008 - iMsg
I'm sort of curious to see what sensitivities are across the different FPS scenes. Tactical shooters (Ex.CS) seem to demand more precision, so sensitivities tend to be lower, while DM-type games generally require a wider range of motion for movement and aiming at faster targets, hence higher sensitivities. Along with these different sensitivities, I'm wondering if there's different preferences for peripherals, especially among the competitive community.

In other words, post your gear, along with your in-game sensitivity for each game you play.
Razer Deathadder, with QcK Heavy (Hoping to switch soon, too much friction)

DM: Depends on game, but generally about 27-35 cm for 360
CS: About 38-40 cm for 360
