Excessive Overkill for 1v1 (15 comments)
Posted by OrangeChef @ 18:56 CDT, 25 August 2007 - iMsg
I had the most awesomeness idea for 1v1 FPSSSSS!

1. Take Excessive Overkill's weapons.
2. Take CPMA's maps.
3. Put weapons and armor on the map.
4. Take Painkillers movement and speed.
5. ???
6. Profit?

Seirously, how uber cool would it be.

They should add excessive weapons to CPMA.

I just finished watching the cooller vs fatal1ty match on google video.

Duing the placebo map, cooller calls out something in russian, he is obviously frustrated at fatal1ty using the railgun, i'm just interested if anyone can ranslate what he said to english for me.

first shout is at: 1hour 1 minute 20 seconds

GreenTubeLAN 3 (No comments)

Yup, the last GreenTubeLAN for the year is fast aproaching, and we have decided to host another little amature tournament.
This time, insted of it being Quake3, we are using UnrealTournament2004. Should be easier for the casual gamers there, don't have to worry aobut timing as much in that game :P

Yes, after the LAN, I will upload some demos, should more more exciting than some of the pro stuff, as it will be all rush with no shield guns :P (shield guns are enabled.... but they wont use 'em, nubs).

I'll probably also upload somewere some of our REALLY REALLY bad shoutcasting. I mean, this is an amature event at its most amaturest :P

CPMAOSP? (37 comments)
Posted by OrangeChef @ 08:33 CDT, 25 October 2006 - iMsg
Ok, I finaly did it, I rolled my Q3A server over to CPMA from OSP, no you can't have the IP, as me and my mates play on it for fun, when I can be bothered turning it on.
Now, even tho my mates connect to it with pings of 14-30, they still complain of lag sometimes.

Now I've rolled it over to CPMA, the first thing out of my mates mouth who was helping me test it: "Wow, this is just like on LAN!" Yeh, thats cool

Lateron that night I played another mate.
Waa: Hmm... sounds differnt
DasBok: 'cause thers no lag?
Waa: This is better, i know what i'm doing now
Waa: Hey, I actualy hit a rail
DasBok: Notice the progresive stats?
Waa: Thats cool!

I think I know what they prefer

Take a loko at the pro-circuit for Quake4 at the moment. Lets see what we have: Toxic and Cooller constantly placing 1st and 2nd, and then you have about four-five people who cheep chaning positions in the following places.

I'm just curious as to wether this will happen again in Quake3.
Now I will be honst, I was not around for when Quake3 was big, I didn't really know about e-sports, etc. But from what I've learned, before Q3A's "demise" a few years back, it was mainly czm, cooler and zero4 who were the dominate players, not really letting anyone else get close. Yes there was a huge amout of skill (from what I have learned), but will the same players keep dominating? Will toxic be a dominate player? Can fatal1ty make his comback? how will stermy fair? Maby we will see Python doing Australia prowder than we have ever been of him before?
There was a LARGE skill base from what I have learned, and there seems to be alot of new players making there marker in Q4, how will they fair in Q3?
I guess only time will tell.
Will I be disapointed if I see another czm vs cooller game at CPL? Probably.

GTLAN - tourney (9 comments)
Posted by OrangeChef @ 21:44 CDT, 10 August 2006 - iMsg
Okay, so GreentubeLAN is over, and the Q3A tournamet went ahead as planned. For those (on another site), who were wondering the map list we chose was:
-pro-q3dm6
-ztn3tourney1
-bal3dm2
-cpm24
-mike-dm17 (a modified version of Q3DM17 which suits 1v1 much much better)
-pro-q3tourney4

The tourney ran very smoothly, and alot of the games were very close. CPM24 seemed to be the map of choice for many players, closly followed by bal3dm2. ztn3 only got played once...
