A short movie made by myself in 2014 when I was still active but was never really majored nor brought up to light at that time.

I made the entire movie in 60fps 720p, but I suck at encoding apparently so after multiple tries and cries, I uploaded the uncompressed file to youtube and let youtube do the work for me, hence the non-perfect quality and no 60fps. Enjoy it.

Thought it was worth a post since I'm about to come back to QL, which is huge for the entire community obviously *self deluded*

Still, to me, a memento to when I actually knew how to play the game.

If I had to take one conclusion away from casting a few games on it during the small cup we had, it's that it looks super promissing but sure could use some tweaks. I'm a huge fan of the old Q1 aspects like the key, which adds another dynamic of control of being able to chase and run in a position where your opponent can't, and the buttons to open staircases that can be used both for trapping and for fooling.

Overall it needs more playtesting, I'm hoping someone, if not myself, will arrange a more planned cup for it and actually have more players play on it to see various playstyles and what could need a tweak or two.

Still, fun games, thanks to the people who played and watched the cup last night, was fun. Ash #1.

I have recently been working on a, let's call it a blog, to keep both track of all the BDTV vods in order, so each map of each game should be easy enough to find, along with a project i took up on my own, which is making short TDM lesson videos.

As some of you know I recently quit organized gaming due to hating the pressure of having to play when i MUST; not when i want to.

But this has come to a bad turn. I have huge competitive spirit within me that needs to be fed, and it turns out quake did alot for my well being.

I've made my living off poker for a long time now, without being wealthy I've been living quite well. But after turning down quake and not touching it at all poker has become quite an obsession that causes me to both start losing and playing far too much for my own healths sake.

I guess I'm writing this because I need to vent somewhere and it's semi quake related, but dibbe if you're reading this, I'll probably talk to you about coming back to nEu within the next few days.

All the talk about "you'll never really quit" really makes sense in my case.

After being asked more than a few times if I could give tips and pointers to newer teams by watching them play and listening to their voicecoms I've started thinking about creating a simple tdm video tutorial to share the basic knowledge of tdm I have.

But before putting too much time into this I realised I've never been doing anything of the kind before, so I created a 23 second long voicetest to see if my voice/microphone is doable for a thing like this.

really. a few years ago, good timing might've been very impressive, but after playing the same game with the same times for 9 years or so, why would timing be hard at all for the pros?

make it an actual skill! turn ra into 27 seconds, ya's can be 22 or 23, mega 31, make the players actually have to time, not just know by default because they've played the game for 6billion hours and have taken RA at every possible time in a game so many times.

i just got my new widescreen etc etc, and i thought i'd use widescreen resolution in quake3 right.

problem is, im used to playing 800x600 in q3, and i'm not that eager to learn to play with a higher resolution, so i google'd and found that 852x480 should do the trick. then here's the problem, when using customheight and width, it wont allow me to fullscreen at all.

A balance of sync: unnoticeable and non-existent. A balance of effects: inconsistent mixed with some ineffective. :D Theme-matic colouring, subtle. Clean editing - means I'm lazy in this case - plus I designed for myself and forgot the audience mostly. Hopefully its still enjoyable if only for the quality and content.
