Event: ESo2

As promised this weekend, the invites for the second edition of the ESReality Online. My apologies to those who hoped to hear the invites friday by djWHEAT. He wasn't able to do it from the Global Gaming League. The tournaments should be a blast, if you look at the invite list. We've got names like the QuakeWorld players

razor and

Hib, the UT fame

lauke and Q3 legend

fazz both playing UT2003, the world's top WC3 players

MadFrog and

HeMaN, the famous RTCW team

Four Kings.intel and QCON winner

Infensus plus...

fox and

SteLam who's coming back to Q3 just for this one event...

Weekend one 19, 20 and 21 Sept.
QuakeWorld 1v1
Q3 OSP: 2v2 - North American conference
RTCW

Weekend two 3, 4 and 5 Oct.
Q3 OSP: 2v2 - European conference
Unreal Tournament 2003: 1v1
Warcraft 3: 1v1

The rest of the rules for the competitions that will be played in weekend two will be online after the first weekend, including the seeds. The schedule for ESo2 weekend one will be released later this week, including the missing rules for weekend one. Be sure You join #ESo on QuakeNet.

TuLLs slovenia and TuLLs Italy will be lanned, they are on a big lan called smauilp lan. They have a 100mbit connection, both teams plus forrest can use that connection for this tournament.

"Legend" should be used to describe people such as tresh, lakerman, blue, prozac, fat, zero4, stelam, cooller.

Fazz is a great player, but i doubt that in a few years there will be some fanboys talking about his old matches like "watch out for this incredible fazz demo from late '02, insane skillZ!!!1".

Oh come on, 4th place ESWC ain't bad, but you'll need something more than that to become a legend. Something like cooller winning every (LAN-)tourney he enters, something like ZeRo4 winning 3 Quakecons (not even losing one single map) out of 4, something like SteLam winning 3 Eurocups in a row, something like ice climbers losing only one map during a whole eurocup, something like fatal1ty who's still mentioned as one of the absolutely best q3 players ever although his best times ended (more or less) long ago.

Besides from that i didn't say that fazz is "all fanboys", i just said that he has some fanboys, like every player has some fanboys.

Of course that all the players you mentioned are a tad above fazz. Still, fazz is one of the best players to have played Q3. I have to say that coming fourth at ESWC was at least as hard as coming second in QuakeCon. Plus, how many people had a WCG gold for Q3?

nothing bad with prodm6 but it might get boring to watch 10 2v2's on dm6 ;)

Razor is the only swedish member of dutch clan Firing Squad which is considered one of the best clans in Europe. In the previous season of Duelmania he beat players like Gamer and Avenger, while he lost to Goljat in losers bracket. Brightest shining star in Firing Squad along with Reppie. Quite good on DM4 and one of the players who have learnt how to do the Aerowalk. :)

All i can say about Hib is that he's finnish and a member of Slackers (thus a friend of Paradoks' :P) and that he hasn't accomplished as much on 1on1 as in 4on4 lately. There's no doubt about that he's good enough to be in the tournament though imo.

They should of got at least one uk player imo, some of the top uk players (even top 10 from wcguk) could compete with a lot of players in ESO, not because any of the players suck, but because the uk scene is underated imo.

i agree, also hate invite stuff.
most invite things at least half the players are there purely on reputation for 1-2 previous results, but are often nowhere near as good now, or have maybe been lucky to get those results

It also gives new players no chance to even be tested.

As it's a competition lasting over one weekend only they have to limit the amount of competitors some way. Either they could've let the first clans who signed up participate, or they could invite all the best clans and players.

Now, which one would you choose if you would want a high quality tournament with minimum forfeits and clans not showing up for one reason or another?

I'm sure there are other tournaments for you to compete in. :I
